Did anyone see our captain #38 on the 90 plus yard touchdown to Robbie Anderson?
This play perfectly summarizes his tenure as our starting strong safety. In key situations our opponents know that they can attack our strong safety at any time. Anybody who continues to defend this scrub is just a joke.

I saw Awusie peeping into the backfield despite giving a 10 yard cushion then getting burned because he couldn't turn his hips fast enough to cover. Heath was trying to clean up the mess that Awusie made. The blunder by Awusie caused that play.

I mean, I understand everyone's frustration with Jeff Heath, but Chido Awuzie got murdered on that play. Murdered.

RIP.
Chido was flat out beat yes but our safety had the perfect angle on the play to make the tackle after he got beat. Safety is the last line of defense. The tight end was murdering 38 all game to keep the chains moving. Chido is young. This guy has been doing the same thing since the Calvin Johnson game. Why is he still on the team? He is the poster boy of the Jason Garrett right kind of guy philosophy. I am sure he's a great try hard guy but the name of the game is to win. Anyone who thinks we can win with #38 getting significant minutes is a fool.

huh what now this thread makes the blame clount on all 43 players, coaching staff, FO, Fans at games, and media over 3 weeks of losses..

did we miss anyone?

lets keep throwing guess and feeling at wall , even a blind squirrel can find a nut someday..

lets clarify, the TEAM as whole is not playing well.. more weak links on the is team then Heath..they all need to do some soul searching and play better..

Awuzie has played much worse.

We have done nothing to improve both safety positions over the last few years and it's obviously hurt our defense overall. Re-watching the game last night, there are signs of cracks in the dam all over the D and it's becoming apparent that our FO's neglect and ignorance in this area is coming home to roost. I really do not understand what happened with our LB's from last year to this but they are running backwards from their stances instead of attacking as well. The whole defense looks confused at times and that was against a bad offense in the Jets.

It’s very challenging for me to place any blame on the players when the coaching of this team is so gawd awful! It begins and ends with the lack of coaching.
I am not saying it's all Heath's fault. I am saying player evaluation is a part of coaching and the team deserves the chance to succeed. I have zero confidence in the organization as long as 38 lines up regularly. The two glaring weaknesses are safety and DT.

I am convinced that the only person who has received more chances than Jason Garrett is Jeff Heath. Jeff Heath is the Jason Garrett of strong safeties. I hope this helps the apologists and excuse makers understand where I am coming from.

He is a weak link and an opportunity for major improvement. But watching the Jets game and analyzing a few plays, there are bigger fish to fry on defense. The DTs are just awful. If they applied some pressure up the middle, Heath's horrendous football instincts wouldn't matter as much. The DEs did their jobs Sunday. Quinn was getting into the backfield on passing downs and Lawrence was occupying 2 and 3 blockers. Darnold had plenty of room to step up and survey the field because the DTs were not getting any penetration at all.

But worse than the play of the DTs could be the play of Jaylon Smith at MLB. When you watch the video and focus on him there are many plays that are just embarrassing. He reacts late, gets over-powered by offensive linemen (I mean he has no power to his game) and takes himself out of position a lot. He is not the player he was in college but college is not the NFL.

The CBs are the best part of this defense after the DEs but they look like they are playing scared. This team is a mess this year. They lost the attitude they had last year.
