they jones cowboys are laughing stocks I just don't take them serious any more I know before hand they are average and will either roll over in the regular season or be one and done in the playoffs if they get there jones cowboys are a average franchise at best and have been for a long time jones cowboys are living off of longtime fans from years ago that remember what a real championship team and front office and coaching staff looks like
Yep and we are slowly dying off.
So they cant live off of us forever

I was pretty much done in 2015. Don't recall watching but one or two games that year. The emergence of Dak, Zeke, and the O-line reignited my interest for a while. The "brain trust" continually gives the finger to the once great legacy of this franchise and the fans so I see no reason to be a consumer of their product. The Dallas Mavericks should be fun to watch this year, assuming Porzingis can stay healthy.

It would have been inconceivable to me years ago but I am strongly considering giving up my fan hood and watching any NFL. I know it sounds maudlin and dramatic but I have lost so much joy for the league and have interests elsewhere that I actually think it could happen. I am a hockey maniac so it’s not like there is no winter sport for me. Cowboys aside I hate what this league has done and the games are unwatchable at times. I also have no hope that the Cowboys will re capture their glory as long as the Jones family owns them. I used to think things would be better when Jerry passed on but I think Stephen will be worse is some ways. Watching this team sleep walk through the last 3 games and Jerry defending this clown of a coach has me nearing the end of the line. I went Salmon fishing the last few days so really didn’t pay attention to the game. My buddy and I were actually howling over the Jets beating them. I dropped a note here early last week and all but predicted how that game could turn out. It did.

My doomsday clock is at about 11:50. Where are you guys at? Could you give up football?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
I’m just about at the same point. Thank goodness for my Astros! I’m an Ole Miss fan so I’m getting it in college and pro right now. We’ve got a bunch of clueless idiots at OM right now, too!

Breathing is the only thing that I have done longer than follow the Dallas Cowboys and the NFL, so I have determined that that would be a good stopping point. I will give up my fan card when I stop breathing:flagwave:

I feel I owe it to Coach Landry to stick it out.
Jerry bought the Cowboys....but not my memories of rooting for this team since March 16,1973.
No memories of the first few years but I’ve been rooting for this team since March 16, 1994.

Unless the organization did something socially horrible, like selecting a known rapist in Jameis Winston, I’ll always be a fan whether we’re horrible or not, but after the way the last few games have gone I’ll be more careful about buying into the hype. Not sure if this team can ever win with Garrett at the head, but I was hoping this team has enough talent to overcome coaching deficiencies. Looks like I was wrong but there’s still a lot of football to be played.

Who knows, maybe we’ll get hot going into the playoffs. I’d rather be winning games late in the season than winning early and losing the last few.

Play fantasy football. Makes Sundays interesting when your team sucks.

Please close the door on your way out. It's cold outside.

Like what?
My career, my terminal illness, my loved ones, my friends, my home.
Those things I will stress about. Not a game played by people that don't affect any of those things I just mentioned.

I enjoy the game. I love the team. I like you guys. I don't want to heap more stress on it though.
I may break character every once in a while, but those are generally exceptions and not the rule.

What turns me on now is the modern technology. 65 inch HD TV. 3 genies to one Direct TV receiver . The Sunday NFL ticket . Redzone. A man cave with 5 TV’s. A lap top with ESPN 3. Access to any game that’s broadcast. Everything at my fingertip with iPhone. Who cares if the game is watered down. I can watch it all and all at the same time.

Terminal illness? Whoa, didn't know. Sorry. You've got the right idea from where I sit though. If a game is so important to my livelihood that it "ruins my day" and affects others when the game doesn't go exactly like I want then I need to have another look at my priorities. The last time I cried at a loss was "The Catch" game when I was 11. Even then I thought to myself, "Why do I get so worked up over this?"
