Carson Wentz Take Note: Dak Calls Out Teammates

I'm not buying this as a real call out, I think it's more of a situation where the media is just trying to fire up the eagles. No way Dak drops a verbal challenge like that and the Dallas media isn't all over it. JMHO.

Guess what? If Dak loses on Sunday, all this rah-rah crap means nothing. If Wentz wins on Sunday, his teammates will suddenly think he's the greatest leader they've ever had.

Ws matter more than anything. All this stuff is tabloid BS if you can't execute on Sundays. They have Pederson, we have Garrett - they have the better true leader on their team. Doesn't matter how crappy Wentz is at it.
You mean the 3-3 Peterson who got swept last year, by Dallas right? The one who's just lost his last three games to. ok. Much better.

How am I stating opinions as facts when I pulled out quotes from the article?

You don't make comments like "Work Harder. Like me.". Your teammates will give you a side eye for that. If I was one of his teammates, I'd ask: Do you not think I work hard or something?". You don't say stuff like "Maybe they need to prepare a little bit more, here and there,". That's calling someone out. Why didn't he just say, "Maybe WE need to prepare a little bit more, here and there,". Like I said, he's a leader, but comments like these will make that leadership status go down in the locker room. I don't want this to turn into a Wentz Locker Room situation where they built a shrine of Nick Foles. We might see a Cooper Rush shrine in the future with comments like these.

Edit: "They look good enough to me." He quipped.
Quipped definition: a witty remark.

That means when he "quipped" he was lying/joking around. Injuries to a essential part of your team isn't something to "quip" about
Aikman did it and it was ok. Dak does it. And its going to get him in trouble? Its about time SOMEONE held other players accountable in my opinion. The country club atmosphere has to stop. Im HAPPY he said this.

These are kind of risky comments. You’re right. Some teammates could take these comments the wrong way. Especially the ones who are hard workers and put in the time.

Dak May also be right and some of the players aren’t working hard enough. If there are players like that. They deserve to be called out and who cares if their feelings are hurt.

Hard to know for sure how it’ll go. But we will certainly find out.

The real question is, can Peterson, who predicts a victory in Dallas go back to Philly if they lose, and face the "You can't beat a team who just list to an 0-4 team and lost their last 3 games? And without a couple of their best players? Philly nation will melt down.

Sounds to me like he's mostly blaming his teammates.
.
It's one thing to work hard, but you have to work smart too.

As he should. Run game has been trash. WRs dropping balls consistently. Dumb penalties. None of those things Dak can control. Dak has been the best and most consistent player on the team thru 6 games.

when I see him get in someone's face on the field, I will consider him a leader. when he gets on a wr for running a bad route, or a lineman for missing an assignment, then he'll be leading. aikman did it. Staubach did it. tony didn't. right now, dak's just an orator. "some guys" isn't being specific enough. if "some guys" aren't working hard enough, call them out for it personally. give some names. and not just players. single out a coach or two. all of us here can.

This league is completely different from when Aikman played. You can't do stuff like that anymore. QB's are held to the highest standard. In addition to social and online media, what you say can and will be twisted and/or your teammates can/likely will take them the wrong way.

You may be happy that he made this comment, but the locker room won't be happy. If the tables were turned and his WR's or DE's said this about him, everyone (and maybe even Dak) would be up in arms about the comment. What he needs is inspiration, not dragging down teammates. "WE, need to prepare more." "We need to work harder." "We are shooting ourselves in the foot". Don't use words like "They".

Exactly. I'm sure many players on this team see him as a leader, however, some players will likely think to themselves, "Was he talking about me?" with comments like these. A locker room coup d'teat will likely follow, rather it be Dak, Garrett, or someone else.

Not a real likable guy with his teammates since college. Took a beating back in college(Parking lot) and not 1 of his teammates had his back.
Dak if for Dak and when you hear the BOOM it will be coming from his teammates as the locker room explodes taking Dak to the bench.
