With Urban Meyer speculation starting after his Cowherd appearance, where would you rate him amongst other possibilities

Since we are flying to NeverNeverLand with this one, Urban would stay in Dallas a less than Jimmy Johnson. Will be either his health and/or family issues that has him exiting yet another organization

Near the bottom. I just don't see his style adapting to the NFL very well. Better recruiter than an X's and O's guy.

Is this based on my opinion of whether or not he will be considered or his capability of success? Honestly they're completely opposite of each other lol

I would put him near the top based off of my perception of how he would succeed in the NFL and with the current roster.

However, he would be near the bottom of consideration being that he just recently stated interest.

If that makes sense..

I can’t imagine a guy who has worked very successfully for years as a head coach at several major universities without being micromanaged agreeing to work in the Jones Circus. Here the HC doesn’t even have final say on his staff.

Urban Meyer is a man with a lot of self respect. I can’t see him ever agreeing to this Jones centered arrangement. And I’m not sure Jerry wouldn’t be threatened by such an accomplished coach as Meyer. Jerry prefers guys like Gailey, Campo, Phillips and Garrett...guys that have never accomplished much if anything as a HC. That way, Jerry gets all the credit if they ever win.

I think the Urban Meyer rumor is a pipe dream.

Agreed on all counts, but he knows the Jones reputation and still seems interested. Maybe he has enjoyed the break from the recruiting grind and wants to stick to coaching football. Maybe.

Nobody with any amount of self-respect is going to work for Jerry Jones and his son.

I hear Lincoln Riley thrown around but he has never coached in the NFL. Look what happened to Nick saban in Miami. Just because you're good in college doesn't mean you can cut it in the NFL.

At this point I am sick and tired of hiring and firing coaches. We had one coach before this man bought the team. Now we're up to like 11.

I think he's very overrated - in college football he had a huge advantage regarding recruiting the best players in the nation, that isn't the case in the NFL & he doesn't impress me much

The one we have we should have fired 5 years ago

Are Jerry's puppet strings still going to be attached to any of the head coaches we talk about???

Yup,

No way, with all of his issues, does he stay here longer than four years, and we’ll be right here having the same conversation.

Give me someone who’s got his pedigree but in it for the long haul.

May not work in the long, or maybe the wouldnt be able to come to an agreement. But when he was asked if he would take that call, there wasnt a nanosecond of hesitation on his part to awnser yes

That would be my hesitation with Meyer. You cant really expect him to be here for the long run

Im of the belief that you cant get any worse than Garrett so if no one else is available then I dont have a problem with Meyer.
