If he walked in next monday and had to coach the rest of the season he would probably suffer from these errors too, if he had an offseason to change the roster and teach the team how he coaches and what he expects he would eliminate a lot of these problems. Players in New England actually fear for their jobs when they make errors because he benches people and trades/releases them when they make mistakes/become to expensive or are not useful anymore.

here in Dallas only Kickers and older qb's get scapegoated. Outside of the occasional Taco Charlton pretty much everyone keeps their jobs until they become terrible players and off the field stuff has no consequence either unless the league gets involved.

For my question of this thread, assume that Belichick was with the team in the off-season but for whatever reasons ended up with the current 53 man roster.

How much success could Belichick achieve with the current 53 man roster?
-Assume that Tyron, La'el and most players are relatively healthy.

1. Would they make the playoffs this year? Regular season Win/Loss record?
2. Would they make it to the NFC Championship game?
3. Would they make it to the Super Bowl?
4. Would they win the Super Bowl?
He wouldn't last two weeks without hanging Jerry Jones from that big screen in the center of the field ! then maybe we could win a Superbowl

I don’t like playing WWBD because 1) he’s probably the greatest coach ever and 2) he’s never had to do it anywhere else under different conditions. But if you do want to play that game, keep in mind he would not have extended Zeke for a zillion bucks and he would already be getting another QB ready to take over next year...

I'm just referring to his coaching, not his GM side of things.

Who says Brady was Elite when he got there? Now with that being said I watched him play his senior year in the Orange Bowl he wasn't a bad quarterback but there were some reason he went in the sixth round I think the coach saw something in him and developed him of course he has natural Talent there's no denying that

Jerry Jones wouldn't let him establish the same team culture he has in New England.

I think we can assume that Belichick would not coach anywhere without complete authority over football operations in his contract.

He wouldn't care if Jerry talked to the media everyday or even if Jerry claimed to be the GM, but Belichick would have complete control or he would just walk out the door.

Also well well well well coach teams can make people look even better than they are they get the most out of them or they aren't on that team. Yes I believe Tom Brady had a lot of talent when he went to the Patriots but it there would be no way of telling if Belichick had some hand in him coming elite?

I saw him warming up in the Orange Bowl before the game started and he was throwing corner post in the end zone in pregame with that being said the receiver only needs one foot down in college I watched him throw it 10 times for the corner of that and so and it was perfect every throw he ended up throwing that in the third quarter to win the game against Alabama with the same receiver he was practicing with pregame

probably not the exact roster as he'd tweak as he saw fit but a hard no if jeri comes along with the team, remove jeri from the picture and it would only be a matter of time imo

I don’t know. Kraft is a Jerry lite. Kraft and Jerry are a lot more alike than not.

Is this really even a question??? If BB was in control we would of won at least 2. And yes, he wouldn't allow all the dysfunction and would have us focused.

What if the Patriots traded Brady to the Cowboys for multiple picks and Romo before the 2007 season?

How many Super Bowls would Romo have won with Belichick?

How many Super Bowls would Brady have won with the Cowboys?

Yes he could win a SB with the roster as constructed. The defensive scheme would be MUCH better to say the least.

We know what he can do with an elite QB. I don't know what he could achieve otherwise.

11-5 with Cassell. 3-1 or 4-1 during Deflategate. Building the Browns to 11-5 in pre-modern FA era, at the speed of Jimmy Johnson turn-around, until they owner announced mid-season after starting off 3-1 the next year, they were going to the Baltimore and nobody had any clue about their future.

The same could be said about his elite QB, what could he do without Bellichek...

Stephen Jones has a concoction that he uses to spike Jerry's Johnnie Blue.

He started using it during the draft back when the Cowboys drafted Zack Martin over Manziel.

He used it when Jerry wanted to trade up from the 2nd into the 1st to draft Paxton Lynch.

Stephen now lets Jerry do interviews and then uses the concoction to keep Jerry sedated the remainder of each day.

It depends on the football IQ of the players we have. Talent wise I'm sure he could.

Belichick could win a Superbowl with replacement players and cheerleaders. The man is the GOAT that understands how to game-plan for his specific personnel and how to dominate an opponent in all phases of the game. His in-game adjustments are second to none. We have all seen him win a game by focusing on his TEs one week, his RBs the next week, followed up by WRs domination the following week .His football wisdom is far greater than anyone that preceded him.

I marvel how he neutralize opponents weapons.

The changes he made to the Pats defense specific to the Rams was amazing to me.

In Nickel which they used most of the 1st half, he moved 1 LB outside and up on the line.

He then had the DE on that side play the gap inside the OT and let that LB play outside contain.

That squeezed the gaps on the DL to offset not having the 2nd LB behind the DL.

The Rams blocking scheme which they tweaked for the playoffs with the Cowboys as their first opponent was designed to box out the LBs from flowing laterally.

With the simple change of moving a LB outside, the LB's assignments became focused on the area they already occupied and minimized the need for the inside LB to flow outside or the outside LB to flow inside.

Without the run game, the Rams wilted.

The media claimed it was about confusing the Rams QB by moving around after the Coach to QB communication was shutoff but that didn't appear to be a big part of it from from evaluation of the game.

The Pats did go to a 3rd down defense that confused the Rams blockers. They used 2 DEs as normal but they would use 1 or zero DTs and replace them with LBs that just walked around in circles until just before the snap. IIRC they even had DTs stand up on some snaps.

Good point.

I think they have gotten rid of most dumb players like Dez.

The only player that comes to mind that might not be the sharpest tool in the shed is Jaylon.

La'el might be a slow learner but he appears to finally understand how to play in the NFL.

This season Awuzie might look that way at times, but his intelligence & awareness appeared to be well above average in college.

If given a few seasons (along with corresponding drafts, trades and FAs), Belichick might be able to win a SB with this roster’s core. I doubt he‘d be able to do it in one season’s time.

What he would need most is the amount of autonomy in making football decisions that he currently enjoys in NE; something Jerry Jones would be loathe to give.
