Has Karma Caught Up With The Cowboys?

Now I know what a lot of those other fan bases feel like and it really hurts... All those years being in the championship mix or even getting to the mountain top in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's.

All those late game heroics and thrilling comebacks to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Hall of Famers and MVP's galore AND a 2 legendary coaches-- who were all household names to fans and non fans alike.

What I never understood or paid attention to was that there were fans, coaches, current and future players who the on the opposite end all those years of Cowboys glory and dominance. Seething whenever they'd see that Star on the side of a helmet or those damn Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

Don't even mention that legendary stadium with the hole in the roof so that god could watch "America's Team"... or the The DeathStar in Arlington.

We were the present day Patriots during those years. Our QB's were saintly. We ran the NFC EAST when it was Wash. Philly, NYG and the St. Louis Cardinals! It was just a matter of whether we'd get HFA or not.

When they played us their intensity was always high, but they couldn't match our talent.

Sadly, with all that in mind every team that lines up against up brings their "A" game as far as intensity goes and with NFL parity talent is a wash! I don't know if we'll ever see another intense Cowboy team again because this organization has a silver spoon mentality and it really shows sometimes.

I dont think its karma, its just bad coaching.

The parity in the NFL makes the talent level between the teams not that much different. Even the worst team in the NFL still has some really good players. Thus, coaching matters tremendously in this league, especially coming up with new and different schemes other teams have not seen or are not used to.

Bottom line is that you cant cover up for bad coaching. If your coaching sucks, you have no chance to win anything in this league outside of a Wildcard every couple of years. That is why the good teams, that are good year in and year out, have really good coaches. From Belicheck with the Pats, to Andy Reid with the Chiefs, to Sean Payton with the Saints, to McVay with the Rams, ect...Now of course those teams might have a down year or two every now and then, but usually they are good year in and year out.

Garrett is not a good coach, his record proves it. Until we get a really good head coach, we will never get back to where we once were.

That is a good point and something I have mentioned a few times. It is like a SB victory for some teams to beat the cowboys.
Rodgers loves beating dallas, he always plays his best against dallas.
The Jets played their best game of the year last week lol.
The saints with a bkup qb fought hard to beat dallas, although that bkup is undefeated so far.
Phil wants to beat dallas so bad that their coach predicted a win to motivate his players!
our coach just said we will try to play our best
Garret has been an albatross for the cowboys since he came here in 2007, and he just wont go away. :banghead:

Not unless karma is Jerry's middle name. The egotistical madman, owner of the most valuable sports franchise in the world will not swallow his pride and hire the best football minds to run his ball club. Great owner, great businessman, horrible GM and he can't get out of his own way.

It's near impossible to acquire enough talent to win despite coaching now that the salary cap is in place, winning a Superbowl with Barry Switzer may have been the worst thing that ever happened to us. Back then Jerry thought anyone could coach the Cowboys and apparently he's dead set on proving it.:(

Right. A team like the Jets, for one, that was their super bowl. Probably one of maybe two national TV games.

Good coaching is needed to go with talent to withstand the intensity they bring in those situations.

Anyone can coach the Cowboys. But doesn't mean it will take you to the Superbowl. Coaching matters even more so than before.

What's wrong?

We have no identity. No championship blueprint. We just draft talented players and hope our talent can beat the opposing team. So when we make it into the playoffs and have to face talented teams that are well coached, we lose. Plain and simple.

No Identity. No blueprint. The best way to be successful is by emulating success. Get big and physical in your defensive front seven then get a 6'4" pure pocket passer at QB...Patriots.

Trevor Lawrence 2021, trade the whole draft to get this guy. IIRC the last QB we drafted in the first round was a 6'4" pure pocket passer by the name of Aikman.

It's time to stop playing around with the QB position.

Karma insinuates we've done something bad. The sad fact is that lately we haven't really done anything.

Boy George needs to chime in on this.

Jerry: "God, if you let me win this Super Bowl, I'll never ask for another one again'. I've been trying to back out on that deal ever since,"

It's not Karma, it's the power of prayer.
