Kind of a different side than some of the negative public perception.......
Big deal for us to get more pass rush at RDT. No dead weight on the starting nickel dline. Makes it a lot harder to pass block.I’m trying not to let my expectations get out of whack, but I can’t wait for the first third and long when we have Tank, Collins, Bennett and Quinn out there.
Just hope he isn’t a distraction.. He has been in some trouble hasn’t he.Tell ya, hard to read this and NOT get excited about his addition, especially considering he cost us next to nothing.
Hard to watch the tape and not get excited. Especially from the DT spot, dude just blows up guards. They’re just not capable of handling the moves he puts on them.

This should have a domino effect of creating a lot more pressure, thus forcing bad throws and creating more turnovers.
Dang bye week!! And we have to wait until next Monday too!!

Even if we don’t use him properly and we release him before the season is over, whatever nightmare situation some envision, who cares.....this is a low risk gamble at greater depth in the rotation that is a no brainer as far as cost.
Best case - Bennet makes plays and helps our pass rush.
Worst case - we kicked the tires and stayed with what we have.
Jones: 'Boys will better 'utilize' Bennett than Patriots

Bye week or not, the Cowboys are going to make some news and they did just that on Thursday when they sent a 2021 seventh-round draft pick to the Patriots in exchange for defensive end Michael Bennett.

Bennett lasted less than half a season in New England, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes Dallas will be the right fit for the pass rusher.
"The scheme that they had him working in up in New England had a lot to do with us being able to trade for him," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "Probably didn't utilize what he can bring as much as we will be able to utilize it. Secondly, he likes to play. He wants on that field. And you say, 'Well, duh. Doesn't everybody?' When he's not on the field, he's not as happy as when he can get out there and try to make plays."

It really defies logic to see him at his listed size bull-rushing OGs but then putting some quick moves on them in the same snap.Hard to watch the tape and not get excited. Especially from the DT spot, dude just blows up guards. They’re just not capable of handling the moves he puts on them.

Sounds a whole lot like what we're saying.Fair question G......but like I said in another thread, he played five years with Richard in Seattle. We know this FO/coaches hate distractions from players. Part of their "right guys" MO. So I'm guessing Richard vouch for him, otherwise, this trade doesn't happen. Another thing to consider, he knows he playing for additional borrowing time on the tail end of his career, meaning we're probably getting a highly motivated player on his best behavior. Here's a piece talking about his trade to Eagles last year........tell me what you think.

Well now I feel so much better about this move sense it was so eloquently explained by our GM. And Our coaches have such a rich history of “utilizing” veterans as opposed to the Pats coaches.![]()
yeah, our idiot coaches will “utilize him better” than the best coach in NFL history
shut up Jerry
Just shut up moron

Just like last year with Austin. Yards per touch is real good, but he still doesn't get many of those touches.
Two years with us, 9 carries, 92 yards. I really hate how we refuse to do things that are just working.
I'm sure Garrett is all over this. I have complete confidence in our HC .Jones: 'Boys will better 'utilize' Bennett than Patriots

I think if he is motivated and don’t slap the clip board out of Richards hand then we are ok. Lol.Fair question G......but like I said in another thread, he played five years with Richard in Seattle. Agian. Great pickup. He can only help.
I don’t understand how some are unhappy about obtaining a vet for next to nothing that is self motivated, produces consistently, and can play multiple positions of need.
Getting Bennett is a good move. But seeing Jerry’s sales pitch being added to it somehow dampens my enthusiasm, lol. I don’t know why he thinks his public comments are anything other than an old man in a clown suit. I know he won’t be changing. But to hear the oldest GM in the league whose teams have almost been irrelevant in the playoffs the last two plus decades is silly.Jones: 'Boys will better 'utilize' Bennett than Patriots

He had 2.5 sacks in limited snaps for NE which is 1.5 more sacks than Dlaw has. I’ll take it.
It's the Hardy Hangover.Agian. Great pickup. He can only help.
