News: Jerry: Cowboys will better utilize Bennett than Patriots

But you did make a comment about Austin, and I responded, and asked you a question what you thought about his TD.
But you are taking it differently.
Whatever though.
It was the part where you wrote, " bet you didn't think he was a bad pickup then."

I never thought Austin was a bad pickup. But the FO here (IIRC) was saying Austin will get his touches here and he utilized by the Rams enough.

Basically they were saying Austin will be more of a weapon in Dallas versus St.Louis. And now they are nearly the same about M.Bennett.

So for the record I never thought or said Austin was a bad pickup. The only player I ever spoke ill of was Trysten Hill. And you pretty much put an end to me doing that.

Lol. Jerry you idiot. He calls out the greatest coach in NFL history....... You can't make this stuff up...

Pat's play a 3-4 last I checked, so yeah, he should get to do more interesting things in a 4-3. LBs are the big play makers in a 3-4.
We'll see how he physically and mentally responds.

because historically, the cowboys use their players better than the pats. :)

too funny.

Tell ya, hard to read this and NOT get excited about his addition, especially considering he cost us next to nothing.

To think the Dallas Cowboys could better utilize a player over the New England Patriots is one of the dumbest things Jerry Jones has ever said. He has had some whoppers over the years too. NE has a demonstrated history of letting guys go before they drift into oblivion. Now Bennett may get more snaps in Dallas. That is by necessity. In NE his snap % were NA, 40%, 38%, 30% 25%, 22%. Declining every week. Why? Clearly he was a hand full in the locker room but maybe, just maybe, the best defensive coach in the history of the league saw diminishing returns from a 34 year old, malcontent DE. For Jerry to say his boys will do a better job than Bill the GOAT of getting the best out of a player, any player, is beyond ridiculous. Bennett may have short term value but there is a reason NE dumped him.

He replaces Crawford’s versatility and upgrades our passrush. I just don’t get why every move this team makes gets uber-scrutinized lol
This

He is not the run defender Crawford is but Crawford is not a pass rusher.

Bye week or not, the Cowboys are going to make some news and they did just that on Thursday when they sent a 2021 seventh-round draft pick to the Patriots in exchange for defensive end Michael Bennett.

Bennett lasted less than half a season in New England, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes Dallas will be the right fit for the pass rusher.

"The scheme that they had him working in up in New England had a lot to do with us being able to trade for him," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "Probably didn't utilize what he can bring as much as we will be able to utilize it. Secondly, he likes to play. He wants on that field. And you say, 'Well, duh. Doesn't everybody?' When he's not on the field, he's not as happy as when he can get out there and try to make plays."
We've always been the team that gets the most out of our players with Garrett. NE is terrible at utilizing players.

Unless I read it wrong, Jones didn't say "better," he said "more." Big difference in my opinion. Our scheme allows his skill set to be on the field more often. The title doesn't reflect what was said or meant.

Exactly. People get offended without even understanding what Jerry said. Bennett was barely playing in NE. He should easily get more snaps here.

Well now I feel so much better about this move sense it was so eloquently explained by our GM. And Our coaches have such a rich history of “utilizing” veterans as opposed to the Pats coaches.

yeah, our idiot coaches will “utilize him better” than the best coach in NFL history

shut up Jerry
Just shut up moron

Yep. One of the game's greatest defensive minds of all time couldn't use him, but our group of geniuses will.

Okay.

Throwing shade at the Pats coaches before our big game with them is tight
....because New England Patriots don't know what they're doing.
lol

I hope all of you are just pretending to be dumb. It's sad if people actually believe that Jerry was claiming the Patriots coaches were incompetent.

Is Jimmy Garoppolo better utilized by the 49ers as their starting QB than by the Patriots as their backup QB?

Apples and oranges mate.
Plus you know what Jerry shouldn't even be talking about how other teams do and do not utilise players after the gong show he has led for twenty years...

No, it's NOT Apples to Oranges.

It is a very simple concept.

Good players on great teams often have more to contribute to other teams.

Also, many players are a better fit in a different scheme.
- The Patriots decided to move back to a 3-4 after playing a 4-3 last season.
- The Pats often don't decide on which defensive scheme they'll run until training camp.
- They been back and forth between 3-4 and 4-3 many times over the years.

It's apples to oranges

One is comparing a backup to a starter(your garopolo hit)

The other is comparing a guy in a DL rotation to the same guy in another DL rotation. Hence Jerry was saying our coaches will do a better job.

Wrong!

Garoppolo was a backup for the Patriots.

Bennett was a backup for the Patriots.

Note:
I posted Garoppolo's name with the correct spelling when I replied to you then you reply with it spelled incorrectly.

It appears that you were not pretending...

I hope you are pretending to be dumb by comparing a back up QB (a position that players almost never rotate at) to a back up DL (a position where players rotate all the time )

it would be sad if you actually believed what you posted
