Well they will probably trade him at some point. And at least we know the Cowboys have enough interest to part with a 1st round pick

As a Cowboys fan, I think a 1st and a 2nd would have been a fair offer for both sides.

It also would've been reasonable for the Jets to hold out for more based on the control Adams has left and because Rams overpaid for Ramsey and set the market. So this would have been a tough deal for either side to get done.

Why does everyone want to just give the farm...we are going to need to start replacing our oline soon too and can’t just keep giving 1st rounders
We been drafting O-line year after year and some of them early picks to. Look at how many high draft picks are sitting behind the O-line right now as well. Gotta start hitting them or we wasting picks.

Who is your guy? A stud safety or a run stuffing dominant DT?
easily the safety vs a "run stuffing DT"

can you name me the run stuffing DTs in the NFL that would garner a 1st round pick + in a trade?

if we're talking safety vs a Chris Jones type DT, that's a different conversation

I don't blame the Jets for trying to get two 1's for a young All Pro stud safety and I don't blame the Cowboys for not pulling the trigger either. Sometimes too much is too much. It is what it is.

Garrett might not know it yet, but with the Cowboys not overpaying today, it just cost him his job.

I agree with both of those decisions by the way.

Before you say Adams wouldn't have guaranteed us anything, I agree. He would have upgraded a glaring weak spot in our defense. But the fact that we did not significantly improve the roster today means we will likely not advance past the 2nd round, and Jerry won't be able to excuse another year of coming up short.

I am glad they didn't trade everything. That said, the same kind of dumb drafting that forced us to trade for Cooper just about forced us to trade for Adams.

If you value the position so much, why not draft it when a player is available to you?

The Rams trading all they did for Ramsey will now have any team with a top DB asking for the kitchen sink in order to trade their DB away.
And now Ramsey has them in a very precarious position with an extension
You give that much you have to sign him
And his agent is the happiest man in the country right now

Now this I can agree with. If they had properly evaluated Hill last April, wouldn’t have been in position to almost overpay today.

That pick was the dumbest pick I have ever seen. I felt worse about it than the Taco pick at the time they happened.

Get out of here with this fair and objective take.
