The only positive take away is MAYBE/ Jerry didn’t want to handcuff the next coach without these picks.

The shame is as much as I wanted this player as I think he has HOF potential, I don’t think we can win a championship with HOFers at every position with this head coach.

With free agency, the only handcuff would be not having a QB. You can sign anything else. The problem in Dallas is that we only buy and have nobody with the skillset to sell a trade. We want to keep everyone. Taco should have been showcased and sold for a hell of a lot more than we got. If we aren't signing Byron Jones to a long term deal, why didn't we trade him? Jordan Lewis is another guy with market value thats fallen out of favor with the coaching staff. He could bring in some picks as well. But .......nobody is thinking like that in Dallas. Literally, every season is about only that season.

..Jerry got one right.. ;)...
Luckily he did. That was the thing about trading for Cooper. The only way to get him was to overtrade for him. It was going to take balls to trade for him at that point especially a 1st rounder. I don't think people realize how bad his production was. It was TERRIBLE. Actually unheard of for a guy to start his career like that and then just suck out of nowhere that young.

If it was a 1st and two 2nd . They should've done it. Both of those 2nd are going to be low.
Especially for this player at his age and 2 1/2 years of control on a rookie deal. My goodness.

And in the end they got an unhappy camper

What worries me about Adams somewhat is his insistence on using Twitter and air out his grievances. This is something that wouldn't' stop me from trading for him but all year he's been talking about things that should stay out of the business of the public IMO.

Yah, that's just way too high. The guy is going to get like 12- 15 million per year soon enough. A first and maybe a 3rd down the road possibly.
That's the t hing though. Two 2nd rounders aren't going to stop me from making the deal. They can trade up into the 2nd round if that pick was that precious them.

I can't believe they didn't do it.

You can't think like that though. Maybe you can but Jerry can't. This is a championship year whether we like it or not. They have made moves that represent that. They should not be worrying about the next head coach. They should be worrying about the next game. THIS SEASON. Adams would help this team this year.

I wanted the player. But I don’t believe there is any “missing piece” or pieces.

3 high picks for a safety would be a brain dead desperate move.

Crazy talk, your 2nds are going to be pretty much at the end of the round for an all pro safety that can play both run and pass was a mistake not pulling the trigger

..so this guy is better than Amari? Cooper was an exchange for 1st round pick.

I think it's fair to say he's one of the best at his position while Cooper was not when we acquired him. That's the difference. The Raiders were looking to get rid of a player who wasn't playing at the level expected of him. The Jets were looking to cash in on Adams' value while it is at its highest.

That's a little rich.

Yeah. If you can't justify drafting a safety in the top 10 you certainly can't justify drafting a safety with effectively what is a first round pick and two second round picks. This kid is real good, but he's not Darren Woodson or Ronnie Lott.

Who wanna bet a pretty penny they're now wishing they took the deal. They now have a pissed-off player who doesn't trust them. Don't worry guys, we'll get him in April right before 2020 draft.
