Is zeke still.. or no longer among most explosive long run RBs:

I've seen backs like Barkley, McCaffrey, Cook and Chubb breaking the big long runs/TD or
making the breakaway TD plays that make them the more feared RBs to have to face
- and we have to face 2 of those in the next 3 weeks.

and frankly we haven't seen zeke break the big long as he had his first two years in NFL.
I only have guesses and theories as to why that has changed but this is how I see the best, most dangerous breakaway RB's in the NFL now.

The best breakaway explosive RBs in the NFL today ?

1 Saquon Barkley NYG

2 Christian Mccaffrey Carl

3 Davin Cook Minn

4 Alvin Kamara Saints ?

5 Nick Chubb Clev

6 Tevon Coleman ATL

7 Leonard fournette JAX

8 Aaron Jones GB ? (vs pass)

Marlon Mack Indy

10 Zeke ??

I dunno what has happened to Denver's Phillip Lindsay as once a breakaway threat his rookie has completely fall off the map. and has Kamara's injuries served as a setback in lesser
breakaway big plays than previous years ?

Also quite a few of Zeke’s 10+ yard runs have came at the end of the 1half’s when the other team is in Prevent Defense and only 3people in the Box.

Cheap stat padding, making him look better than he is actually playing/performing.

I've never thought I'd think or say that I no longer expect Zeke to break a 40-50 yard run for a long run .. remember that patented quick screen out of backfield that we've seen
breakaway down the sideline for a 60-80 yard TD pass ? (ala Steelers, Niners)

Zeke has lost a step or two and no longer has that "it" factor. All those hits he has taken have apparently taken their toll. Kellen Moore is wise to reduce his roll on this team because he can no longer handle that high load that he once had. The Jones boys should have anticipated Zeke's reduced roll and not agreed to such a high pay raise for him. They should look into unloading his contract onto some other poor sap GM that thinks Zeke is still special.

1-9 when Zeke is under 75 yards rushing.....Breakaway or not a much-needed player to be on the field for us!!!!

Just watch what he does At The Second Level.. You will notice he’s actually looking for somebody to crash into. It’s like he’s lost his vision or something, kinda weird..

We should’ve signed Tevin Coleman for a pittance of what we were extorted to pay the Ewok for the same amount of production so far.

HOWEVER, #21 ran like he did his first 2-1/2 seasons last week. He looked faster, more explosive, and ran with more purpose than he had the first 6 weeks.

It's tiring having this same conversation. It's real simple. Explosive players have explosive plays. Zeke has had 1 explosive play since his rookie year and that was a screen pass. Until he starts hitting multiple big plays again you can't really classify him as a big play running back. He's a grinder at this point. That's good enough for me as long as people don't want me to classify him as a home run hitter when he is not hitting home runs.

Zeke is just among the most fat RB now. I would say he has come a long way to reach the top.

smh, I can already see all the overreactions flooding this thread

he was never the most explosive, but he's no slug either. Chill.

Don’t agree with that at all.
His explosive and breakaway speed was the leading reason why and what made him the 4th overall pick in the draft.
- Otherwise we would have been content to keep Demarco Murray who was a slashing pounder.

But Cowboys thought Zeke was special
Those long quick screen TD passes was an example of zeke’s feared speed.
He was never top end elusive - such as Barkley is, as Elliott is a one cut runner who runs to daylight.

When you have to face and play those kind of breakaway backs, they simply keep defenses on their toes at all times – they strike fear in defenses because they simply cannot let up ..not even once .or else, they are a quick six TD at any given moment.

What made zeke unique was both his explosiveness and his physicality that he brings to a defense. If he is not wearing tacklers down, he is breaking it away for a zeke homerun TD.

The last two games Zeke started looking like old Zeke. I think the holdout and having no summer practice affected his play. Let's see what happens these final 9 games.
exactly...Lets see how he does this second half. He's in game shape with a perfectly timed bye. I think we're gonna see the beast
