This Is An Undisciplined Team

Penalties galore last night. Which is the hallmark of this team, it would seem.

Mistakes and missed assignments.

The meat of the season is coming this next week. Dallas cannot beat better teams - better in the context of teams they have played and beat - if they continue to make mental mistakes and penalties.

This is a coaching issue. The position coaches must hold their charges accountable for the gaffs and penalties made.

But this ultimately falls on one man who is responsible to ensure the coaches do their job and correct the mistakes. Looking at the top head coaches, Belichick, Reid, Harbaugh, they demand execution as close to flawless as possible. These coaches do not tolerate mental errors.

(Now there will be people posting anecdotal instances for all three of these coaches as if that is a rebuttal. I attribute that to either bias or the non-thinker.)

I am a vocal Garrett must go fan. But this thread is not meant to be another brick in the wall for that stance. It is simply the head coach needs to do his freakin' job and chew a lot of people arses and get these folks minds right about execution and penalties if this team is to withstand the coming two months, make the play-offs, and actually show the league Dallas is more than a one and done franchise.

But then one might make the point that a real GM would be giving a euphemistic colonoscopy to his head coach for being 9 games into the season and it appears to be getting worse instead of better.

I have a theory, right or wrong, that if Jerry really likes you, he becomes too close to hold your feet to the fire. But that may be off base.

I dont know about that. The turnovers are a problem.

Not sure you can make the case via penalties however.

and I am glad Lawrence go the penalty he did in the fourth quarter. Hernandez needed to get his and DLaw slid down and played right over the top of him and when the ball was snapped he threw him to the ground and then told him about hit. 15 well earned yards in my book.

Coming out of the bye week I expected better execution, silver lining, we get a chance to clean that up after a victory.

They are top ten in penalties per game and 2nd in penalty yardage.

How are penalties not an issue?

because the calls on the field are so subjective. There have been a number of terrible holding calls, p.i. calls etc.

Yesterdays personal foul call on woods was ridiculous.

That is why I say it. There is really no correlation any more to me between penalties or winning and losing ultimately.

This team showed me exactly who l thought they were last night. A middle of the road team that can beat (most times) the mediocre teams but have no business on the field with the good teams. The only thing consistent about this team is horrible coaching and being undisciplined. This team will be lucky to make the playoffs and we'd (fans) probably be better off of they didn't. No more excuses for Jerry to keep Garrett...

Calls are subjective for every team so I am failing to see your point. It all evens out........ every team experiences bad or missed calls. Then of course there are the calls we get away with too as other teams do.

So the reality is even if you could weed out the missed or bad penalties for every team, Cowboys would still be near the top.

you train as you fight. I'm sure the product we see on sunday is the same product going on in practice. it won't get better till we have better coaches and sadly I think we are stuck with JG for 5 more years.

ok.

Lots of highly penalized teams have won championships, their division, made the playoffs etc..

Especially in this decade.

You can win getting dumb penalties again bad teams during the regular season.

Come January, good teams make you pay for them and end your season.
Imagine what a Belechek or Reid would do with this talent...even start developing our talent which we NEVER do

who developed all the lineman? Who developed Lawrence, jaylon smith?

not to mention all those undrafted free agents through the years.

Yesterdays personal foul call on woods was ridiculous.

Two of the penalties were on Bennett for offsides, etc and he has only been on the team a week, its hard to put that on the coaches.

The Woods taunting call was a joke and I really don't mind Quinn getting 15 yards for hitting Will Hernandez because Hernandez richly deserved it at that point.

Two of the penalties were on Tyron, who is playing through an injury that would keep most players off the field.

Also the March-Lillard "excessive pulling" penalty for pulling a player off the pile never gets called, the refs did that purely to try to settle the game down.

That is 7 of the 10 penalties called yesterday. The Giants had 8.

In summary - Penalties in a Division game? Who knew????

Has always been that way....look at how people play after they leave Dallas lol..Taco. Bennett at TE..just to name a few off hand
