I don’t see a future here for him honestly. And I really don’t know how Rod convinced everyone he was something special. Oh well can’t hit on all of them. But damn this is 2 lineman we have drafted that have been trash

I think he just showed them his tape. This kid has exceptional natural talent. He just has issues in his character that are probably going to prevent him from ever reaching his potential, here in Dallas. I mean, this is crazy.

To think they could of gotten a starter at SS instead of a sleeping bench warmer...

hindsight is 20/20, it’s not like DT wasn’t an equal position of need. Obviously we thought his attitude wasn’t going to be a problem and right now he’s not living up to his word. We’ve had less draft misses the past 10 years than pretty much every other team though so what’s your point?

I am not a believer in giving up on young players too early but this is, perhaps, an exception. This kid needs to get right fast because right now, I'm thinking he is cut before the end of the season.

Unreal how big of a screw up this is. Can't even say that this is unexpected because this was the book on him at Central Florida.

his coaches didnt like him,he was benched as a starter. That should have been a big red flag but we drafted him because Marinelli thought he could coach him up.

Hated this pick when Juan Thornhill was on the board, hated the taco pick when TJ Watt was on the board. I’ll eat crow if hill turns into something but I don’t think that it’s going to happen taco 2.0. Another marinelli special. Gag and lock that coach in a broom closet during the draft we need talent to over come the crap coaching.

this is much worse than the Taco pick,Taco atleast did something to be active but Hill is in danger of being cut soon.

Some will try to spin this away. But in the last week we have found out he got sent home from practice, fell asleep in team meetings, now almost missed the team plane and even Marinelli has admitted he has issues.

No matter how you want to slice it, it's not good. And what makes it worse was these were THE PRECISE RED FLAGS THAT HOUNDED HILL LEADING UP THE DRAFT and why teams reportedly had lower round grades on him.

But once again, we thought ourselves to be the smartest dudes in the room led by Marinelli.

My point is clear.

Nah, DT was a need, but it certainly wasn't as big as of need as strong safety. Going into the draft they had Tyrone Crawford(3), Maliek Collins(3), Covington(1/3) and Woods(1). Not a stud lined group, but not void of production/talent.
The cream of the crop at DT vanished by the time Dallas was picking at 58.

Strong safety considered of Jeff Heath, Kavon Frazier and Thompson.
3 Special teamers, with one forced into starting due to the lack of resources put into the safety spot in general.

Hill had tons of red flags too. From not actually starting for a top 25 team, immaturity issues, work ethic and well lack of production. The only thing he had going for himself was his raw athletic talent.
Athletic wise, he had traits of a 1st round DT. Production wise, not so much.

Cowboys thought they could motivate someone. Cool. But it has to come from within. Talk is cheap, especially when it's draft time and money comes into play. So far, even with injuries to the DT, they rather keep Hill inactive most games.

All the top DT's were long gone but most of the top safeties were still available. Cowboys took a project DT.
