TBH, I never wanted draft Zeke 4th overall in 16. Has nothing to do with his talent, but that's too high a price to pay for a rb. Feel even more so now that he got paid. Most teams in the league don't spend that kind of resources on rbs.

I agree....the modern NFL will pay players. Even a very mediocre player COULD make several million in his career...which is how many more millions than an average hard working America? I say again...I did not want to pay Zeke his asking price...during a hold out...BEFORE his SIGNED contract was up. And if another famous site didn't screw it's pooch. I could give you proof. But some "fans" are being more of a beech about it than Zeke. Like QB's a decade or two ago that jacked up the price of QB's it is what it is.

Let;s figure out ways to win with what we have...as if THAT will help. LOL?
I wasn’t a fan of drafting a RB that high
I wanted bosa but he was gone
I think you pay elite players at positions they can be elite through the contract
RB is probably the worst position to pay
QB, oline, even Dline can play till 30 and still be good
RB not so much
But he’s ours now

Analytics data already told NFL front office folks all they needed to know. Backs age fast, burn out with heavy loads, and are typically poor investments beyond their rookie contracts. Good running backs are also easier to find than other positions.

But the Rams and then the Cowboys caved and gave out big contracts to Zeke and Gurley. The narrative of these two contracts should put the exclamation point next to the previously known data. DON'T PAY BIG MONEY to a running back.
Don't forget Bell either

we can dump him in a couple years...if he can stay out of trouble in the off season and get his body right..he'll come back next year and be closer to what we expect.

Getting the oline healthy will help
We haven’t had guys really healthy on the oline all year
I haven’t looked to see when we can actual get out of his deal though

2018 first 10 games 194 att 953 yards
2019 first 10 games 191 att 833 yards

He is a couple big games away from being where he was last year.

Not only that, but he average 5.1 his rookie year, 4.1 the next year, 4.7 in 2018 and is averaging 4.3 this year. Those are good averages that also show the obvious, that there is some fluctuation in the running game. Even if Elliott doesn't have a league-leading year this year that doesn't mean he won't next year. It's silly to get so caught up in the moment of a long-term contract.

A contract like he received is never going to be really worth it, but if he stays healthy and fluctuates between those numbers each year, then Dallas is essentially getting what it paid for. Players like Cook and CMC having career years doesn't negate that.

Sorry you did not understand the post
Zeke is the greatest RB of all time.

Changed the game as we know it.

Responsible for Dallas last 6 rings.

Doesn't need to lead the league in rushing to prove it.

Yeah, I totally got your post.

Jordan and Zeke

Until Saquon’s deal comes up, the. He will be highest paid.

Thanks to Zeke.

And by paid, I mean get a massive 2nd contract after his rookie deal.

He's proven that all that truly matters in an effective running attack is that a top offensive line is needed.

He's down 12 yards/game. Much worse competition? Do you actually have something to back that up? What are his carries like compared to last year? How has are better success in the pass game effected his numbers? How about the injuries on the offensive line?

These things don't happen in a vacuum. His numbers are down a little, but some of that is just him not needing to carry the team anymore, which is great.

This "washed up" and "done" and all the other hyperbole is just that. It's knee-jerk emotional reaction from fans. Zeke is fine and has plenty of time to earn his money.

Yes, he's down 13.5% of rushing output and 30 total yards per game as I just said.

1. Yes we've faced 5 bottom 10 defenses of in 9 games this year, while we did that only 6 times in 16 games last year when Zeke was skewing that much more as he was the leading rusher, not 8th.

2. We had injuries on the Oline last year including mussining our all-pro C all season lol

3. "Not needing to carry the team" so.... having three less Carries?

I'm sorry dude. You're just going to have to realize he's regressed. Which he wasn't this all-world RB to start with, or at least since 2017.
