As crazy as this sounds, Garrett would probably be a very good fit in New York. What most of us tend to forget, Garrett is head coach in name only, and although there are unquestionably bad calls on the field, I would like to see Garrett on a team that is not completely controlled by the owner. The pressure of having Jones in your ear for every detail, including the owner and his press conferences (which no other owner does), has to be difficult. Garrett will probably have success with a team like the Giants. Meanwhile, we will hire another coach that is a puppet. You think guys like Riley or Greg Roman will want to work under those conditions? That, my friends, is the truth.

if they were to hire him they will run his offense. I have no doubt the reasoning behind hiring him will be pointing to Romo and Prescott's growth and stats. Not sure if he would call plays but I guarantee it will be his offense.

Don’t sleep on Buffalo either. They are a good, WELL COACHED football team. We will need to win that game in spite of our coaching.
What is this "well coached" that you speak of? We don't know what that is in Dallas.

Jerry has a lot of short comings but how exactly is he to blame for the decision to kick a 50 yard FG into the wind on the road thereby ensuring that your defense is toast if the FG is missed? He did this in the Vikings game too. You can blame Jones for micromanagement and being too hands-on but those things should not be used as an excuse for the gross ineptitude shown by Garrett in terms of in game situations and actually leading his coaching staff..

Yes, that is what I said "undoubtedly bad calls on the field", but I am speaking to the culture in general. JG is almost like an assistant coach, with JJ being the main man.

Actual Jason Garret quote from his post-game presser:

"Ultimately, we didn’t make enough plays at the critical moments and score enough points."
Head coach Jason Garrett shares his thoughts #DALvsNE.

WE DIDN'T .... SCORE ENOUGH POINTS.

Let that sink in in a bit. I know it is a media-based comment and, yes, I know coaches rarely provide completely candid responses, but this is the most outlandish statement I've ever heard JG say.

Garrett has just adapted an age-old Texas Aggie observation: "We didn't lose the game, we just ran out of time". Garrett's modern day interpretation is, "We didn't lose, we just didn't score enough points".

And, that, as they say, is a wrap.

Garrett would be absolutely terrible on the giants and I can only pray that they sign him.

His whole mantra of out executing the other team doesn't work, even when you have more talent than the other team. He would be worse than Shurmur- that Giant team has no talent anywhere. It would be a bloodbath and I would love to see it! Couldn't happen to a better guy!

I don't know how you guys watch his PCs. Are any of them any different? From the ones I've seen it seems like he says the same things every time. God, he's boring. I also attempted to watch the show on Amazon. Although his language is different when he talks to the team, it's still predictable and actually pretty cheesy. "Atta baby!"

I think I only saw half of the Jerry video, because I didn’t hear all the STs comments. He didn’t seem all that worked up to me. I think tomorrow will be interesting if he really is worked up.
jerry was enraged. he vented vituperously. if he didn't seem all worked up to you, I would refer you to Roosevelt's "day that will live in infamy" speech.

Let Richard interim and if there isn’t drastic change you know he isn’t the one either. I want Urban Meyer personally. All this said they’ll let Jason see it through till the seasons over.

NO! I dont want any excuse to keep Richard as the head coach next year. This team needs a complete overhaul in coaching .

Today I learned that Jason Garrett posts on the Cowboyszone under the user name: Columbiacowboy.

I listened to it a second time, after. Still did t seem all that worked up to me. Compared to what I was expecting while reading the transcript. It did sound like he was mostly irritated with ST. And rightly so.

I just listened to Carl Banks on WFAN and he said it is unfair to both coaches with that garrett story to the giants coming out right now.

He mentioned how Dallas is leading the east and the giants are just trying to win a game and save their jobs. then he mentioned and I think this will be the storyline in new york, Garrett is a good coach who wins a lot of games.

Post game, looked a combo of smug and resigned. Did not seem particularly bothered by today's outcome. More of a whatcanyado presser.

I think he knows the end has arrived. I'd ask for his resignation. Maybe a condition of an uncomfortable roster for the next six weeks brings out attention to detail this team needs.

To do list

Fire O'Quinn.
Ask for JG's resignation.

Do it now, and I bet it sparks the club.

this has been one of my beefs with JG for some years and I've been criticized in the past for sharing it.
His m.o. is basically the steady, stoic, unflappable personality on the sidelines and in front of the media. Never too high or low. Just kind of methodical and business like.

And that's fine, you have to be who you are, you cannot fake it or the players will see right through you.
But--in certain instances there needs to be demonstrable fire. There are times when a Jim Mora like meltdown is warranted to send a message to both team and fans that status quo will not be tolerated.

For some reason--Garrett is either totally unwilling or incapable of reacting in such fashion.
And I think that's a problem. I'm not saying he needs to be Jimmy, for example. There was only one Jimmy.

But sometimes, for pete's sake, some genuine emotion to light a fire of urgency or anger under your team.
Never happens. No matter what. I think unfortunately the team has taken on that personality. Que Sera Sera.

That's not a good thing IMO
