In fairness, that's a bang bang play that gets missed quite a bit in the NFL. Was it PI? Yeah. But again, it's not an unusual call to have that missed.

What is unusual is to have a penalty that has only been called 7 times all year, get called twice in the same game.

Over 170 games have been played this year. 7 tripping calls. Two happened in the same game. Yeah, that's weird. I am not arguing any Goodell conspiracy here but I have little doubt that Belichick had an influence on those calls.

Again...more excuses. There was nothing “bang bang” about that, he was draped over Engram about 5 minutes before the ball got there. Had that happened to us against the Patsies last night there would be outrage, accusations against the officials and it would be the main excuse of why we lost.

Lol, the ball isn’t even in the frame in the first picture on that link.

I could post several links that state otherwise. Again, we can cherry pick every call and make excuses, had that call been the other way around there would still be people whining about how we got screwed by the officials.

Stop the whining and excuses.

Yeah Im not really cherry picking I was using your example.

37-18 and you think that call cost the Giants the game?
No, I think we would have won but I could sit here like all the other excuse makers and make an argument of how that play and the following PI call against Cooper that resulted in us getting a TD changed the entire strategy and therefore outcome of the game.

This could have changed the outcome of the game as well had we capitalized but no, we don’t get calls that go our way, do we?

Do y’all watch every play? Seriously! Yes the tripping were bad calls but while posting here Gametime I mentioned multiple screens where we got away with blatant holds. Also lucky multiple PIs weren’t called. People cry about refs every game when they are just bad all around. We might have had less points if the big play screens were called back. The first one we had a guy grabbed on to their D lineman’s shoulder pad as he ran through
Well here's the deal.....the calls you mention....are completely normal to either miss OR phantom call....almost any play. But "tripping"? Two in one day? Doesn't make your meter twitch even a little. OKAY Mr. I-am-SOOOO-objective.

I am not surprised the point is going right over your head.

That pass interference call was a bad call but those types of missed calls happen in every game every weekend. To us, against us, etc.

There is no comparison between that missed call and two tripping calls in the same game. You are literally trying to equate PI penalties that get missed all the time with a penalty that really never ever gets called but has happened to us twice in the same game.

That's weird.

There’s no doubt the lousy officiating changes the games but to act like we’re always the victim and to use it as an excuse is for weak minded people. We’ve had several calls go our way there aren’t several threads about how the officiating won us games, why is that?

Stop the excuse making, we lost and we’re still in the lead of the division, time to move on.

Although there are a few people here claiming eternal victimization...."tripping"...really? Twice. REALLY? Why not just do the normal phantom "hold".

Yes during the game I was pissed but that’s not why we lost. I was more pissed we kicked a FG snd still needed to go down the field for a TD vs a top D.

And yes I am objective because people cry here every week about refs but completely bury their heads when we actually get breaks. The refs suck league wide this year. Many of our fans use it as a crutch

Lol, those types of non PI do not get missed every game and the fact that you called it a “bang bang” play shows how clueless you are. It doesn’t matter if it’s a phantom tripping call or a ridiculous non PI call, they are both potentially game altering but keep up the excuses, you make the Dallas fan base proud.

Does it matter if it’s a bogus PI call or a phantom tripping call? No, it doesn’t. They’re both bad calls or non calls that potentially alter the game.

This atlantawhatever knows nothing about football. My 3 year old son knows more about football then him. Pretty comical really.

Well how can i compete with such a football god such as your 3 year old son? He probably runs laps around you too.

Wow. I always thought you were better than this. Smh.

On Tyron's "tripping" the defender crashes into his leg. Maybe he was trying to hit him below the knee and hurt him? But to look at that and say it is tripping is completely disengenuous.

Frederick's is the closest one to be called tripping and even that is laughable.

Yep, i'm wrong. The call was horrible. Saw some better video today.

I have never denied the hypocrisy of being a fan. My point is Ive seen us catch some really tough breaks, the last few years in particular. I could go back and show you a dozen plus examples but clearly you think it all evens out. I could provide links to the packers 3rd and 20 + where the ref was staring directly at Irving while he got clotheslined and no holding was called. I could show you the completely improbable numbers against us not getting a holding call in our favor for like 12 games while leading the leage in qb pressures and I could scour up plenty Ive forgotten about. I dont believe it has evened out for us and I know it didn't even out yesterday. I dont know why things have gone this way, but its clear you have to not only be better than the opposing team but also good enough to overcome poor officiating. I realize we aren't the only ones who have missed calls as well. The quality of the product on the field is hurt by poor, INCONSISTENT officiating. I can accept human error, I only ask games be called consistently. Those tripping calls where completely unavoidable by us. They clearly had their minds made up to look for it and they managed to find it. How else can you explain it?

Idiocy is the only way to explain it. We actually agree on quite a lot but I just can’t get behind the idea that we are purposely “punished” by the officials when we’ve also had just as many calls go our way.

Just as you can point out several examples of how officiating has potentially cost us games, I can point out just as many that have helped win us games. Just look at the examples above, Cole Beasley was clearly over a yard short of a 1st down last year against the Saints and they gave him the first down. That roughing the passer call on GB for a hand slap on the helmet which gave us an extended opportunity to potentially score a TD was absurd. How do you explain those?

I agree that the officiating is horrendous across the league. I think it’s a combination of elderly, incompetent officials and the ever growing mess of rule changes. Most penalties are subjective and even with the new challenge rules the officials have refused to admit when they’re wrong. Look back at that non PI call clip on Engram that I showed, that was challenged by the Giants and they lost. i want to say something like 3 challenges have actually resulted in a reversal and I’ve seen some very bad PI’s, not including the one above.

Point being, if you watch a lot of NFL games, not just the Cowboys, these types of lame calls and non calls happen all the time but some Cowboys fans refuse to admit it or just like to use excuses and complain. I’m not defending the tripping call, it was bogus, but to act like we don’t get calls that go in our favor whether it be a phantom tripping call, too many men in the huddle, or a non legitimate roughing the passer call doesn’t matter because they are all crap and potentially game changing.

I don’t understand how you think we have to overcome officiating when I’ve already pointed out several calls or non calls that have benefited us and you acknowledged yourself that the officiating is inconsistent and we have had the officials make calls in our favor.

Any given Sunday the refs can change the outcome of a close game. Which is why you have to be good enough to not only overcome your opponent but poor officiating.

I started commenting on this thread with only this game in mind. This game we got beat up pretty bad by the officials. That is cut and dry. What else is cut and dry is THIS season they haven't "won" us any games, but they may have very well lost us this one. Doesn't mean we haven't benefited from some calls this season. That only means the teams we've beat, we have beat soundly, refs or no refs.

Unfortunately, this board cries about the officials after EVERY loss. If it wasn't the tripping call it'd be some other call that "screwed" us.

We even have people preemptively whining about how we're going to get screwed, Goodell/Mara, blah, blah, blah.

Every NFL game could be parsed to death, blaming the officials, but fans only pay attention to their own team so the league is out to get them!

Those are two of the worst calls. Anyone saying this isn't on purpose, jeez.
