That has nothing to do with the performances by Allen and Darnold.
you weren't impressed by those guys?

Allen made Beasely look like a super star against us.
Same guy that was chased out of Dallas because he "couldn't get open anymore" and "wasn't worth what he was asking".

What gives?
How come Cole was a scapegoat for Dak's backers near the end of his tenure here in Dallas, and ate our lunch?
I think what becomes fuzzy or not as clear in our evaluations of Dak to some of these other QB’s is distinguishing their success against better passing abilities and potential.

IMO Dak is a better QB and manager of the game than he is a great passer.

I keep seeing people say the Cowboys should go draft a QB better than Dak...like it's something that can be done by throwing a dart at the draft board.

Ever hear of these guys (overall pick number)?
Jamarcus Russell (#1)
Paxton Lynch (#26)
Brady Quinn (#22)
Jake Locker (#8)
Johnny Manziel (#22)
Tim Tebow (#25)
EJ Manuel (#16)
Brandon Weeden (#22)
Matt Leinart (#10)
Christian Ponder (#12)
J.P. Losman (#22)
Blaine Gabbert (#10)
Patrick Ramsey (#32)
Kyle Boller (#19)
David Carr (#1)
Josh Rosen (#10)
Joey Harrington (#3)
Josh Freeman (#17)
Jason Campbell (#25)
Byron Leftwich (#7)

That's 20 first round picks...I would take none of them over Dak. If picking an above average (forget great) QB was easy, all 32 teams would have at least one.
Thankfully the people on this forum aren't in charge of the cowboys roster, because if they were they would looking for that franchise quarterback in every draft. The incompetent head coach has held this team back for years and lets not bring up Jerry because he's not going anywhere. There are teams that would be happy
Let's keep "Field Goaling" with Prescott baby!
America's team must accept "Mediocrity" simply because Life is not a sure thing!
OMG, how much is the going rate to work for Dak's PR office?????

P.S. Getting tired of our team getting abused and embarrassed by mid to top tier teams in the league!!!!!

Maybe the owner should not have been content with a mediocre head coach for the last 10 years.

Our defense and special teams severely underachieved. Pretty simple stuff. Prescott had better numbers, he just couldn't overcome the entire teams mistakes. He made some on his own but was hardly the culprit.

I agree with you. I like Dak. I don't even blame him for this season anymore than I would blame Romo for that 1-7 start in 2010. Dak is probably one of the few players going all out. But if Dallas is going to pay out 30-35 Mil a year, basically Russel Wilson money, I want Russel Wilson talent.
For the record we can only blame Romo for the 1-4 start. He went down in game 6 for the season against NY while we were leading in the game.

Yea.. I’d much rather have one of those more prolific passers. I doubt Dak would be having anymore success with those teams.

It is what it is. That wasn’t in the cards for us. We’re going to have to do the best we can with what we have.

can you elaborate?

The backup Alabama QB is playing very well with little drop-off from Tua so far this year. Leads me to believe pretty much most college QBs would look decent to very good when surrounded by all the talent Alabama has on offense. Looks like Alabama offense is so good that QBs can go to their 1st or second read most of the time and the player will be open. I doubt Tua is out there reading defenses but just running the called play. I watched Tua for the past two years and get the feeling that when faced with equal competition, he does not shine. I think he is afraid to run since he has been injured so much. Take away his scrambling ability and I don't think he will be a good pocket passer. I also think he gained some weight and will gain more.

Blame Romo for what? The team quit, it was clear to see. I remember being in North Carolina watching the game against the Jags. I think Kitna was in. It was one of the worst efforts I have ever seen from this team against a team with a losing record. Dallas got stomped. Two weeks later and it was a complete turn around after the coaching change. Your supporting cast matters, it's not always on the QB.

He needs to be tagged and traded.

But it would have been best to trade him before the deadline, which I was scoffed at for suggesting.

I was responding to him saying Romo was responsible for 1-7 start which he didn’t even play beyond the 6th game.

Oh yeah, you're right, I apologize for snapping before thinking. All I was trying to get across was that I would not blame either QB for that combined 1-7 start.

I wasn’t. Just pointing out Romo didn’t play in all of those games to 1-7.

The point is if he was signed there would be no drama or discussion about his contract.

The fact he isn’t signed however is newsworthy.

Nope, the fans are the ones creating the drama.
The fans are following and discussing the drama created by those parties involved in the negotiations.

It’s very typical for this type of discussions to follow these type of situations. All it will take for them to end the drama is signing a contract which both parties could end at any time.

The longer they go without an agreement the longer the drama. While the fans certainly can add to the drama I wouldn't describe them as creating it.

agreed not sure it means much as it will get done but it something to discuss
