Jarwin clearly outplays Witten when he is in the game, but this coaching staff must feel like they owe some sort of loyalty to Witten or either Witten insists that he is in on more plays and snaps. I thought that Witten stated how he didn't want to get in the way of the development of the young TE's or something like that.

Now compare how each blocks.

I'm a big Witten fan but am not arguing that he should play as much as he has. He is old and has clearly lost a step or two. However, his style of play is the same today as it always has been. He has never been a "yards after the catch" guy. He has never been athletic or fast. I still believe that he is a solid blocker and good route runner.

I think he still has value to a team that uses him the right way. I'd like to see Jarwin take the majority of the snaps. Open up the seams and design plays where he can go down the field.

Witt is garbage at blocking

It’s all a big joke. They try and convince us they Witten must get more reps because he blocks well....that’s bs. He’s not that much better than Jarwin in that department. Fact is, Jarwin is a better player than him at this point but this team doesn’t have the balls to admit that. Less reps for Witten would actually benefit him.

Yeah. When you are the 2nd TE and you basically play WR and don't block, that happens

Funny because Kelcie, Kittles and Ertz don't block much and basically play WR yet that doesn't happen to them.

This whole thing about Witt should be out there because he is a better blocker is total BS.

When James Hanna was on the team, I mentioned he should get more looks because he has more speed (4.49/40) and thought he could attack the seam.
Back then the narrative was, Witt needs to get all the snaps possible because he was the better receiver and Hanna can only block. Now it's Witt needs be getting most of the snaps because he is a better blocker and Jarwin can only catch and run faster.

I'm not saying we need to bench Witt completely but Jarwin should get as much snaps as Witt because when he is out there, he makes plays that Witt just can't anymore.

Written is in there because he can block.
Witten being the better blocker can be debated....our other TE gets more yac... and is faster should be discussed. Where do we see this great advantage in Wittens blocking?

The willingness to continue to heap praise on JWitt as royalty, at this stage of his career, has been another reason this team is being served karma and every bit of failure it deserves.

Witten is what is wrong with the losing culture since this new era. Entitled and selfish.

Jarwin is a star in the making. He could become a top receiver for this team. He just makes plays.

The crazy thing about Witten is that he is quick off the line. It's quite the head scratcher. The man has a very quick burst off of the LOS but nowhere else.
