Well no, because Pete Carroll got rid of him.

Literally the only DC Carroll has ever fired. They suspect it was due to him being too aggressive with calling blitzes. A lot of the big plays against the defense this year have been against blitzes.

Look at what a REAL defense like Baltimore is doing to Buffalo right now. And compare that to how easy the Bills had it against us last week

Taco Charlton has 5 sacks in 9 games w/ the Dolphins.

Something is very rotten in the state of Dallas.
I tried to play devil's advocate, but you're just right. While our franchise, elite level salary DE has the same number in 13 games.

The simple reason the D is struggling is because this scheme basically requires an above average to great player at almost every position. PERIOD!!!! Look at the Legion of Boom from ‘12-‘16 - in most iterations of the D they had some combo of:

CB - Richard Sherman
SS - Kam Chancellor
FS - Earl Thomas
MLB - Bobby Wagner
WLB - K.J. Wright
DT - Brandon Mebane
DE - Cliff Avril
DE - Chris Clemons
DE - Michael Bennett

These are players that have shown glimpses of excellence in this league over longer periods of time than ANY MEMBER of the current D NOT named D Law or Robert Quinn. The DB’s can’t even sniff that list of DB’s.

Stats are bad for you

Like any VICE l, stats should only be used in moderation.

Yes I admit I had a stats problem but I went to a SA meeting and I’m on my 10th week stats free.

Look it’s hard, you’re gonna wanna use stats bro,
But you can be stats free. One day at a time bro.

You’re right. Let’s blame the unit that’s been top five in points per drive most of the season rather than the one that’s ranked in the 20s.

The defense was pretty awful in the bears game, no denying that. But I think that is probably partially symptomatic of this team having totally given up at this juncture of the season

OP is correct. The defense has not been spectacular this year but they are not the Achilles heel that a lot of people with an agenda would have us believe.

We must not forget that we have lost two games this year where the defense gave up 12 or less points. That's the difference between 6 - 7 and 8 - 5. All we needed was 14 points in both of those games and we'd be sitting at a pretty decent spot right now

No, the defense is not exempt from blame. when I see numbers like that and the fact that heading into Chicago we were 8th in the league both in yardage and points allowed, I'm also not saying defense is at the head of the list of issues on this team. Not even close

There is a combined 30+ missed tackles between our starting LBs. It's bad.

Enough of the theories and conspiracies in the end in the NFL you cannot WIN if you don't score points!!!

Asking an offense to score enough points constantly when having to drive the length of the field every single time because the defense or special teams does zero is ridiculous and will not win you anything in the end. Not hard to grasp why we struggle.

this defense made sam darnold, josh allen, and mitch trubisky look like pro bowl quarterbacks. it’s definitely as bad as i think...maybe worse!

the simple fact that they let trubisky hurt them with his legs when every single other team the bears have played had enough common sense to take that away and make him beat them with his crappy arm says it all!

To be fair, our defense gets to practice against a quarterback with a crappy arm everyday of the week. Maybe they wanted to try something new?
