I feel like alot of the options that have been floated around have been names I could be happy with.
Urban and Riley seem to be the most popular names out there and I would be happy with either. As happy as I'll be to see a new coach in here, I'm curious to see what Urban or Riley could do as far as bringing in a staff and implementing their own systems.
Both college coaches bring good things to the table but adjustments need to be made at the pro level. I would like to see some more elements of a college offense introduced to see if it brings out the best in Dak and Zeke. Maybe more motion, play action, different alignments/formations, things like that.
Defense needs alot of help obviously but I'm hoping fresh eyes and a new philosophy can help there as well.
Getting this team back on track is not a easy task and I think a new coach has alot of work to do.
We want results as fans and I share that desire to win asap but I think we need to keep in mind that a new coach deserves a chance to change things over more then just his first year. I think changing the culture and getting their systems in place could take time and then they need to evaluate what players they want to keep long term and who needs to be replaced.
This will be the craziest off season we have had in a long time and while it wont always be pretty I'm excited to watch this team go in a new direction regardless of who the new coach may be.
