Local reporters and the media walk a fine line on their reporting because they know the Cowboys owner is a vindictive child when it comes to criticizing him or his players and he sees it as a personal connection. Coaches? Not so much but don't dog his players.
Back when they were quitting on another coach, the reporter for The Ticket flew on the team plane to and from PHL in one of the worst performances by a Cowboys team to end the season, 6-44, and was coerced into telling the audience about the plane ride home by the Morning Musers. He was really reluctant to tell it because you could tell part of him had awakened to something he'd not realized before, he cared more about losing than the players. They were discussing vacations and some were talking about investments but very few were demonstrating that they were sorry the season was over and they'd just had one of the worst beatings by their rival.
What was revealed was that there are many posters here and fans all over that take it harder than too many the players do. The Cowboys are 6-7 and Jaylon Smith is campaigning for the PB, what's wrong with this picture?
The Ticket knew they were jeopardizing their flagship status by taking it to the limit and a guy called in and said "hey, your guy was given a free ride by the Cowboys and he shouldn't be talking out of school". I don't remember which of them responded "well, every person on that plane knew he was there representing this radio station as a reporter. Why aren't you asking why they felt so comfortable to be showing they didn't care". He went on to say this wasn't the entire team and there were players really down and he never mentioned any players by name.
Bottom line, Booger retaliated and every member of the on air team was overjoyed that they no longer had to put up with him. You know that little tirade of his with the present flagship station? That happened too much off the air with the guys at The Ticket.
