We were begging for meaningful change to the offense. 400 yards a game, with 300 of them coming from the 4th Q in overtime. I don't care how many yards Dak throws for, I want to win the damn game. We are not using the passing attack wisely. Last year, I think everyone wanted us to pass more. Now everyone wants to run the ball more. There is an equilibrium that this coaching staff cannot grasp. Vikings game, we should've passed the ball more. Patriots game, we should've ran the ball more. This coaching staff is so backwards.
Also, we do need to go back to running the ball a bit more. I understand we need to pass the ball more in some games, but our defense is terrible and they need to be off the field as much as possible. The only reason we go from running to passing is because we start getting down by 2 possessions, thanks to the defense. Our offense cannot afford one 3 and out. So we either need to score on every drive or control TOP. I was watching undisputed earlier this morning, and in 2016 and 2018 (aka, our winning, playoff bound seasons), I believe we were top 5 in TOP. This year, we're ranked 23rd.
All in all, there are a lot of factors behind games like this.
