Aaron Rodger over Dak in Pro Bowl is Ridiculous

Record between the teams is probably a factor.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but perhaps voters looked at Rodgers's receivers and Daks and concluded Rodgers deserves it because he has 11 wins despite his top receiver being injured all year.

Also, Rodgers is a better QB than Dak.

and I would add that his top running back has over 350 yards less rushing than Zeke does (and people are complaining non stop on this board about how Zeke isn't "carrying his load" this year). Which would lead us to conclude that AR has significantly less help than Dak.....

One other stat that clearly jumps out on that list--
AR, 24 TD 2 INT
Dak, 26 TD, 11 INT.

When your TD are almost identical but you have 5 times as many INT's as the other guy, it isn't hard to make an argument for Rodgers.
Anyone who is "pissed" about this perceived slight is probably looking at it more emotionally than rationally.

Which is exactly the reason not to get worked up about who's in/out. I might be in the minority, but I care absolutely zero about the PB, and even less about who's playing in it. It's more meaningless than even the last preseason game each year.

And they were playing it before the SB which is dumb. Any players that are playing in the SB aren’t going to play in the PB so they will use a alternate. If I was asked to play as a alternate I don’t think I would play. But I guess it’s a honor for the players. Used to be a free trip to hawaii for them and the family. Now they play it in other states.

Precisely. The Hawaii gig was a pretty nice one when they had it, now they get to go to Disney World...yippee! I certainly don't begrudge the players getting a free vacation and such, but it's not a game that carries any interest for me. Heck, even calling it a "game" is misleading.

Realistically Dak should have made it over Brees. Considering Brees missed so many games.

Ultimately it’s not a huge deal. I would imagine that Dak likely makes it as an alternate anyway. There’s a solid chance Brees or Rodgers or both won’t play in the game due to either making the Super Bowl or injury or whatever.


Of course. We would all prefer that none of our players play in the pro bowl. But that doesn’t look likely.

I usually don't start post but this really has me pissed. Aaron Rodgers is behind Dak in relatively EVERY Category/STAT they keep for NFL QBs and he beats out Dak for the Pro Bowl. Now I know its sometimes a popularity contest and I know that if its close then you go with the all pro. Maybe its about the winning record, but don't tell me DAK hasn't outplayed Aaron Rodgers this season. I aint crying but this is some BS. Dak has nearly a thousand more yards passing.

Rodgers has 24 TD passes to 2 ints. That's a fantastic ratio and the reason he has a better passer rating. If his TD-to-int. rating was the same as Dak's, I'd agree that there's no argument for putting Rodgers in ahead of him.

Last year I didn’t even watch it. Soon the game maybe phased out. I think it cost the league to much to put it on in Hawaii so they moved it to Disney. I don’t live far away from there and there was no buzz about town over it.

Stop crying and pay attention. They have nearly the same passer rating (Rodgers is a point higher) except Rodgers has actually done something against a team with a pulse. Passing yards . May as well put Jameis in the Pro Bowl too. Dak has a case but there are five guys ahead of him with at worst equal numbers and they are all on better teams which the Pro Bowl has always awarded.

I haven’t “avoided” anything. I was generally unavailable to post over the last 7 days as I was traveling. It might have fell in that window.
No I do not think passer rating is the be all and end all. It has tons of problems and I’ve said that many times. But it is a real stat based on box score numbers that anyone with basic math ability can calculate, unlike PFF or QBR. There’s nothing weird about Aaron Rodgers going to the Pro Bowl over Dak. Dak has been more prolific but Aaron has been more efficient. In passer rating’s eyes, those are equal.
