Not really. I'm pretty sure Kevin King is the only corner that came off the board between the Cowboys 1st and 2nd pick.

Yes really. The cowboys could have just taken the best player available.

instead they reached on a DE who wasn’t good and didn’t deserve to be taken that high.

And they planned on taking CB in the second. They then took awuzie

They telegraphed their picks and didn’t just take best player available.

Not sure if anyone noticed but he was benched after the first quarter for poor play. He is exactly the kind of player we need to get rid of and figure out the flawed thought process that lead to the decision to draft him. He is a quitter and a loser.
Lol. Little too late.

Agreed. Our “playmakers” aka, Zeke and Amari, took themselves out on crucial downs. What kind of player does that? Especially in a crucial game? They obviously don’t care. What a joke.

Amari is playing himself out of a big contract. The problem is that Dak is no good without him. Its a different offense than the one we saw today when Amari is at his best.

I'm not saying Taco was a good pick. I'm saying the strategy didn't cost them at the cornerback position like the post I quoted said. They still had their pick of corners in the 2nd round.

Just think. we chose awuzie over a pro bowl corner. The bills had no problem taking him. The knock on him was he covered well but didn't tackle.

Yep, and Lewis pretty much gave the game away playing man when the rest of the defense was in zone.

Lewis at least makes plays. He's made more plays than anyone else in that secondary. We have got nothing from Awuzie this year.

Right and they took a bad player.

the strategy is flawed because everybody knew the cowboys forced picks at DE and CB due to need. Rather than just taking better players.

the miss on Chido would be more palatable if they didn’t reach on Taco because they knew they could get Chido later.

When awuzie was drafted almost everyone celebrated. Now our entire secondary plays soft. Seems last week players decided to play tougher man coverage. This is something the coaches should be preaching but really haven't. Tough physical football is not our defensive style at any level.

So if the best player is a qb for 5 straight rounds you will take a qb every time?

I'm not talking about draft strategy. I'm talking about what we look at in players we draft. Taco is another hard to coach guy with who lacks effort. Last years pick, Tristan is the same guy. We need to overhaul how we evaluate the intangibles.

Actually, most had no idea who he was b/c he played at a mediocre football school in a conference not known for defense.

That's fair. TJ Watt was right there.
