What do we do with Dak going forward?

Have him take the number you want him at or franchise. Need to see what a real head coach does for him.

just btw, Dak still leads in a lot of QB analytics. QBR, DVOA, Expected completion percentage, etc. He’s constantly having to throw into tight windows where other QBs can throw a dump off pass or screen that goes for 40 yards

Everyone has been blaming Amari Cooper for not showing up on the road, however, I think it is Dak who isn't showing up on the road.

The only good game he played on the road this year was at the Lions, in a dome. He was below average vs the Saints, Pats, Bears, Eagles, Jets all losses.

Yes he will....he’ll just demand a trade. If we don’t trade him or sign him long term, he’ll skip training camp and possibly early reg season games.

He's not missing camp. It would be idiotic for him to not play in 2020.

This is what I think Jerry and Stephen will do........remember, unlike fans they're evaluating him over FOUR YEARS, not one season or game. From that perspective, his resume is right there with Wentz and Goff. Remember there was talk they wanted to sign him to a 7 year deal but Dak wanted something more short-term? Just my guess, but I see them offering him something in the range of Wentz or Goff money, 5 years deal with 3 year out. They will look for a coach who can elevate his game. Keep in mind a lot of hands are part this season failure, OL, WRs, coaches, defense, special team, etc. Not just Dak.....

Just for the record, I'm just as confused with Dak and I'm probably one his strongest supporter. But he's not an alpha dog like Aikman or playmaker like Romo. He needs a coach with strong leadership skills.........

Franchise him and trade him for whatever you can get. Draft a qb, sign a veteran or make a move for a guy like Rosen.

Dak is the least of the problems on the Cowboys. He was injured and inaccurate yesterday, but his WRs didn't help him much and the coaching has been terrible.

The problem is that Dak wants like $35m to $40m per year. That's a lot of money and it makes it a lot harder to fix the defense, WR's, etc.

If Dak would take $15-$20m per year I would sign him immediately. You can win with him as QB. You just need a very good team around him and good coaches.

Let's be honest, that isn't happening. Either Dallas gives him a massive contract and suffers like Philly and LA or they let him walk and roll the dice on a replacement.

Nope. The guy with the ball in his hands every play is the most pressing issue. He is not very good on the field and he stands there with fabulous pass protection and comes up small every week.

If he just makes ONE freaking play they win that game. The last pass to Gallup was underthrown and he misses Austin when he is literally 5 yards behind his defender.

He was literally off from the first to the last play of the game.

He seems like a confident man, but I suspect he and his agent have had a few words about him not accepting huge offers from the Cowboys earlier in 2019. Usually the agent drives this even more than the player.

I've said all along that at a minimum, this (2019) year should be a show me year and to not sign him to a huge deal before the season.
I'm glad we didn't. Pretty sure the price has not gone up.

Now, like so many are saying, maybe he has one more show me year as well.

That tweet is comical. He was clearly hurt in this game, the Pats game was in the rain and the other two games were the two where the entire team basically quit.

Add those four into the others and he is still top five in almost every passing category.

You pay the guy, why FT him, you are going to pay North of $27m if you tag him all of it guaranteed, and if he gets paid in 2021, then you are going to be looking at around $45m+ per season, on top of the $27m+ you shelled out in 2020. We have a lot of cap space and we are rolling a further $11m into 2020.

Because he was injured. Did he forget how to play in his fourth NFL season?

I predicted after 2017 that Dak would be Carson's backup within 2 years. I'm here to admit I was wrong.

Might take another year.

The back up position on Dallas is turrible. Dallas is justified in either drafting or signing a quality QB even if that guy doesn't start.

Then you franchise Dak. Non exclusive. If some team wants to pay him $40m per year, we will take their two first rounders and go from there.

Then you hire a real coach. If Dak is as bad as his detractors say, he will lose the QB job to a quality backup. Then you let him walk. If he is as good as his supporters say, he will play much better with a new coach and he can get that shiny new big contract.

What you don't do is pay him $35m per year right now. His agent may have made the worst agent decision of all time by not signing a contract after week 3. Dak might literally be about to lose hundreds of millions of dollars in salary and endorsements because his agent held out for more.

Agree with every single thing said here.

I hope he leaves and goes to an organization that actually cares about winning football games.

I would buy the whole injury excuse if not for the fact he has been inaccurate for about 5 weeks now. Even his completions have been off, usually behind the receiver.

He was fine last week until he got hurt, the injury happened in that game.

The two games before the Rams games were the debacles with the Bills and Bears where the whole team played by doggy doo. The fifth game was in the cold and rain in Boston, not many guys put up good stats in that weather. In the same game Tom Brady was 17-37 with zero TDs.
