There is just no way you can pay this guy.

I don't care what his market value is.. I say let him go play in the market and if some team is dumb enough to pay him 35 million then let them.

Just because these other teams made stupid deals doesn't mean the Cowboys have to..

I like Dak... I think he's a good solid player.. But he just runs the offense and doesn't elevate anyone as a player.

Am I wrong or did we have 3 road games where we didn't score a Touchdown this year? Saints, Patriots, and Eagles yesterday..?

Franchise him, get a real HC and see where we're at one year from now.

It will be pretty obvious by then if he's worth of a long term deal or it's time to draft his replacement.

Additionally I sign a vet for his backup. I don't mean a no name that has been on 5 teams in 5 years either. A true vet that's played in this league.

It's the most important position on the field. Put some resources into it Jerry.

I really don't know.

I thought he had the intangibles. But I'm not seeing it this year. It's one thing to score points and move the ball. It's another to fire your team up, hold them accountable, make them play to their best. I'm not seeing that extra fire from Dak, and you absolutely need that if you're a franchise QB

You tag him. You can't sign him to a big contract. We already have enough money tied up on the line and Zeke. If he can't win with that around him, he doesn't deserve a huge contract. It's not all his fault. The coaching is terrible. Play calling is atrocious. But dak is simply not accurate enough and he also makes bad decisions. I don't know if it's kitna telling him to just let if ***** rip or what. But I see way too many times he is taking bad shots to wrs who are covered down field rather than take the easy throw that is available. It's seems like daks situational awareness is not very good. There's times to take shots and times to take what the defense is giving you. If it's not there, check it down.

Franchise him if he wants to still get paid 35 million plus. He isn’t worth it. Franchise him and start looking for another QB.

Yeah I think this is where i'm at as well.

Then that begs the question of what do we do with Amari Cooper..

Hopefully they can get him on a good deal but i'd be worried about paying this guy.

The problem he had yesterday is he never set his feet. He looked like he was overcompensating for the shoulder. That’s why he was inaccurate. Problem was no one wanted to catch anything anyway. Witt, Gallup, and Amari were awful.

The whole thing was awful.

Receivers consistently dropping passes and Dak consistently inaccurate.

This was the type of game, actually he had quite a few like this. That a franchise elite QB makes plays and wins games. He failed yesterday and failed big.
I said before, as others, let a new coach decide. And hopefully that decision is made before FA begins as what to do.

Let him got test the FA market, tag him. But what if they tag him, and he does not improve, and they could have drafted a QB. Now they need to wait another year?

I think I will be fine either way though.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Franchise tag him and let the new coach decide if he is salvageable.

Dak should have taken the top 5 offer at the start of the year, he bet on himself and lost.

He won't hold out if he's tagged as long as the Cowboys take a QB in the draft

Yes he will....he’ll just demand a trade. If we don’t trade him or sign him long term, he’ll skip training camp and possibly early reg season games.

I can get with this. Draft some competition for a change (which we didn't do for #9 either and should have), See if a new coach can get the very best from Dakota, but if not we at least have a plan B. Win-win?

agreed.

They should draft a QB high too.
