What do we do with Dak going forward?

Love the idea of franchising him and hiring someone else. Problem for him is that it will further expose him for the fraud he is. They've gone out of their way to build around him for the past four years and he's been an abject failure, it's just who he is.

Hes given ample evidence of what you say but he has also played well at times. To be honest did anyone in the world think that Lamar Jackson was gonna be the #1 candidate for league MVP? but sound coaching has done this. I know hes a different player than Jackson but the point is Id like to see what a new coach can extract from him before letting him go since we have 4 years invested already

The whole thing was awful.

Receivers consistently dropping passes and Dak consistently inaccurate.

He was. The week of no practice effected him. He was throwing off his back foot a lot. Lost all of his fundamentals. But the pass to Witt, right in his hands. Gallup dropped like two easy NFL catches, and Amari looked like he was dreaming of Xmas cookies or something. I even thought the bomb to Tavon should have been caught. He slowed down.

I’m concerned about Gallup. The guy can’t track the ball.

Yes he will....he’ll just demand a trade. If we don’t trade him or sign him long term, he’ll skip training camp and possibly early reg season games.

If he holds out then I think you have to let him go test the market.

IF the Dolphins want to pay him 35 million then let them.

The back up position on Dallas is turrible. Dallas is justified in either drafting or signing a quality QB even if that guy doesn't start.

Then you franchise Dak. Non exclusive. If some team wants to pay him $40m per year, we will take their two first rounders and go from there.

Then you hire a real coach. If Dak is as bad as his detractors say, he will lose the QB job to a quality backup. Then you let him walk. If he is as good as his supporters say, he will play much better with a new coach and he can get that shiny new big contract.

What you don't do is pay him $35m per year right now. His agent may have made the worst agent decision of all time by not signing a contract after week 3. Dak might literally be about to lose hundreds of millions of dollars in salary and endorsements because his agent held out for more.

He will never be anything more than a capable bus driver. A team with a competent HC/OC could win with him if surrounded by talent, running game and a better scheme. He will not get those in Dallas. If he would take 20 mill/per, then I might see it work out with a new staff.

He is absolutely not worth top five money. Tag him, draft another QB relatively high and let the new HC decide.

He won't get the trade because he won't get the money from another team, besides the Cowboys would ask for a 1 round pick and they won't get it. Dak will get the tag, if he knows he is the only option at QB he will probably hold out, if the Cowboys draft or even sign a QB in the offseason Dak will sign the tag before he loses his job by just holding out

There is just no way you can pay this guy.

I don't care what his market value is.. I say let him go play in the market and if some team is dumb enough to pay him 35 million then let them.

Just because these other teams made stupid deals doesn't mean the Cowboys have to..

I like Dak... I think he's a good solid player.. But he just runs the offense and doesn't elevate anyone as a player.

Am I wrong or did we have 3 road games where we didn't score a Touchdown this year? Saints, Patriots, and Eagles yesterday..?

Transition tag: It allows other teams to make offers and gives the Cowboys the right to match it or let him leave.

If someone else wants to make him the highest paid QB, let them.

I think Dak would be suprised at how low his value on the open market actually is

Defensive Tackle, Quarterback and Linebacker, in any order would please me but Id like to move up if we can

I agree except I would add in safety and I would say, if you’re taking a QB. Don’t take him in the 3rd. A 3rd round level QB. That’s Dak.

if we are going to take a swing at QB. Swing for the fences.

Admittedly, I don’t know what the QB’s from
College look like really this year. I have been too busy to watch college football. The only games I watch are Penn State games.

How about you give him a coach who isn't 95% incompetent first

He was absolutely terrible yesterday and quite frankly most of the second half of the season.

With the pocket he had yesterday vs that secondary he should have carved the Eagles up yesterday. Instead, he pretty much **** the bed.

Agree with the safety position as well but the LVE situation might make this a priority and I wish it wasnt

You’re 100% correct. Bring in a new coach and tag him. What other choice is there..

There was a game, I don't remember which one, but he basically just kept running the offense and did nothing and one of his comments after the game was him saying he might've been trying to do to much.

He just let's the game come to him and then when it's too late he'll finally start throwing some passes that have a bit of urgency behind them.

No, he won't. He has a ton of endorsements that require he plays to continue to be compensated. Plus, it's an ugly look for his squeaky clean image.

Not to mention, the tag would pay him $33 million. He's made nowhere near that his career. And it's far than he's worth, and he knows it
