lets say you're Garrett. You have a slim hope of backing into the playoffs and saving your job with a win in the last game of the season. The team owner is watching and monitoring your every move. Are you going to say- "Now is a good time to start our 2nd string qb" ?
Could you also imagine the press if Philly loses and we lose cause Rush has a bad game?

Imagine you're Garrett. You've got nothing else to lose because barring a Super Bowl appearance, you're out of here. Your starting QB is struggling, possibly because of an injury. Your team needs a spark on offense. Maybe the team, knowing they have a backup coming in, all picks up their game. They dismantle the Skins and back into the playoffs but now they have momentum and something to prove...

Yeah, it's stupid to think this would happen, but hey, who cares at this point.

Time to move on from Dak. Jerry needs to jump out ahead of all the off season drama of the “to pay Dak or not Pay Dak BS.”

Move on. Let’s make it about football around here and not who gives good interviews. We will not get a good coach to come here if the worse player on our offense is the highest paid player on the team. The new coach is going to want to draft his guy or bring the free agent of his choice at about $9-10 million.

So why not go ahead and end the Dak offseason Saga and let Cooper Rush get a chance. Hell, might even find out he is capable enough to make the easy throws Dak gets praised for. Might find out if he is good enough to keep around to be the backup next year.

LOL. Ya, Rush will light up the Commanders. Oh no, Dak can't have a bad game playing with a bum shoulder! Cut him now!

I agree, what if we get the Cooper Rush that we got in his first preseason?

What is the harm in starting Rush? Why the hell is everyone always so petrified of anyone other than dak starting?! I mean Romo isn't even allowed to practice.. We can't start Rush.. Dak is clearly injured but we don't even think about starting rush.. and then he starts bombing the game.. like tanking badly but we don't even think about Rush?!

Its almost like they are afraid to see if anyone other than Dak can get the job done. Almost like if another guy came in and took advantage of single coverage zones built around stopping the run when his oline is giving him routinely 3-5 seconds of clean pocket.. then they would have to admit that Dak is plain standard and average and actually not special at all.. and that would also mean admitting they made a huge and terrible and irreversible mistake in benching romo for him.. Yeah.. we are stuck with Dak until he gets injured or hopefully (and it would be a christmas miracle) at some point someone actually LOOKS at the dang game tape and sees this guy is utter trash.

Garrett cares. Hes fighting for his job. Hes not going to say "what the hell-lets start Rush". again-Imagine the press if Philly loses and we lose cause cause Rush has a bad game

I'm guessing you haven't seen Rush actually play?

The Cowboys staff isn't about to put Rush in for Prescott as long as there's the slightest chance of getting a playoff berth. That won't happen. Now, if Dak is still limited for the last game and we're eliminated from playoff contention, maybe they'd consider it but otherwise, it's highly unlikely. The FO would be sure to go with Dak as long as a playoff shot is there and he's physically up to it. Jerry wants Dak and his team in the playoffs, first and foremost.

I don't think they would. Last time JG was in this position he had them win the game. 8&8 is considered a winning season in Dallas.

I agree! But there is no way Dak will sit because he will want to come out and have a big win against a crappy team hoping it will take the bad taste out of everyone's mouth. This is so typical of Dak.

Haha imagine if they win though and Rush plays great! I'm really not serious. I don't care enough to be serious at this point. Like I said, Garrett is done without a SB appearance and in case anyone hasn't noticed, this team isn't going to a SB, so hey...why not. Plus I keep hearing about Dak's shoulder...

They should start Rush. I'm over Dak this year and if he's injured why not.

You damn know well Dak and his agent would beg Jerry not to as if Rush plays good Daks money takes even a bigger hit or dumping Dak to another team will become more difficult/ less upside for the cowboys.

No way in hell they do this.

if Daks shoulder is bad I agree and like you I have completely given up on this team but Garrett has to play as if his job depends on the outcome because well... it does.

Dak was inaccurate all game last week, if he hasn't improved in practice this week then I would consider another option, save Daks shoulder for next year.

Also, I'm sure it's not Garrett's call anyhow. If you believe the Bease , which I'm starting to more and more now...Jerry and Stephen decide who starts...plays...and get the majority of the looks.

Dallas fans lol. Hey let’s try Rush, let’s start pollard, coopers great, Cooper sucks,

Dak is the biggest problem lol. This team has multiple issues Dak is down the list/

I am however becoming more concerned about the off-season contract talks. It’s not my money but Jerry may want to consider seriously getting competition in here these crossing route issues got to get better

but the over reaction of Dallas fans are always classic

I'm all for starting Cooper Rush. They need to see Rush in a regular season game, and there's no need to expose Dak to further injury.

However, this underachieving organization will trot Dak out there thinking they have a chance to still win the SB lol. Hell, and ain't no guarantee they'll win with scatter shoot Dak.

The fans are worse GMs than Jerry has been. Dak was not healthy enough to lead this team to victory. The coaches should have taken control of this train wreck waiting to happen by giving a healthy Cooper Rush the start. This should have been a more ground and pound game for the Cowboys but instead, KM had an unhealthy Dak throw the ball 44 times. Giving the start to Cooper Rush in wk 17 is still advisable.
