Has everyone finally come to terms on Dak?

Grass isn’t always greener ... franchise qbs are very hard to come by and dak is one whether you want to admit it or not.

he isn’t going anywhere
exactly. Think about it...the team would revolt in mass and it would be very hard to attract free agents next offseason if we let Dak walk. It would be total chaos. Think about just how hard it is to find a decent QB in this league. We act like spoiled brats on here sometimes. Do we realize how blessed we are to have found another stud QB? Dak gives us our best chance to win the next 10 years. That means we need to maximize his talents by getting some damn coaches in here. Greg Roman would be a good choice..or Mike McCarthy. Urban Meyer..yes..but he has health risks.

Agree!
Everyone above your post is a Dak hater. It's time for me to put them all on ignore as well.

Dak is a wonderful young quarterback. He's as tough as Romo was. I wasn't too happy with him playing and taking a pain shot in his shoulder before the game. He could have literally damaged it for good.

Dak will get paid and remain a Cowboy for many years. Picking him in the draft is about the ONLY thing I can thank Garrett for.
ditto...and we better Thank Will McClay and the scouts for pushing for Dak.The only thing w elack is a STUD DT AND COACHING.

Uh....no.......it's hard to really grade most the players with such an inept coaching staff forced upon us.

plus a D that never creates turnovers and basically sucks on a regular basis. Coaching is garbage and there’s no clutch play anywhere on the field in any phase.

just us dak haters see what he is.
Dak turned me around this season. Obviously his accuracy the last few weeks hasn't been there. He says it wasn't the shoulder, so can only believe some of his old mechanics started to creep back in.

But there is a big difference between a guy who has never been able to be accurate and what Dak was able to do this year. People seem to forget what it was like having a QB that wasn't truly a starter quality throwing for us. Dak is more than good enough to win, and he has shown that he can continue to improve.

Doesn't matter -- we can debate it forever but the Jones are going to sign him one way or another.

Last time I checked our wideouts played like trash last week. They dropped a bunch of passes. Dak isn't Johnny Unitas. He did more than enough to get the ball to the guys. THEY FAILED HIM. Not the other way round. Dak is better than 90% of the NFL QB's out there.
Dak had an injection.....that definitely affected his throws.

6 drops
If those are caught he’s 30-44
Pretty good and probably win the game

Are the dak cowboys what you guys worship?

I have no idea who the Dak Cowboys are. I do know that a football game is won and lost by a team. But again, maybe your television broadcasts an alternate reality where football looks more tennis with pads.

WE have what it takes to win except scheme and coaching. WITH ONE OTHER CAVEAT...WE NEED AN INTERIOR DT to take on double teams..a space eater.

Is everyone finally seeing that he's not the elite QB most of thought he was when he initially took over for Romo?

Do we still have some on here that believe he's top 5 or 10. And that anyone who says otherwise is a troll or eagles fan?

He's not the answer, and I pray we don't waste another season or 2 on him before we get it, like we did/ are doing with Garrett.

Cut losses early.

I'm glad he got greedy and said screw that huge extension.

#DontpayDak
Yep, he will sign a 30+ million per year contract and rightfully be with the Cowboys for years to come.

exactly...the odds of winning that game goes up many fold and changes the mo. We would be having a different conversation today. It was truly a team loss.

Naw dude, remember Daks throws that were off hurt more than the ones that were dropped because to a hater even admitting something as simple as the whole offense was misfiring is somehow anathema to their ideological programming.

With this reasoning we should have cut Romo after his first season. Dak Prescott is not elite and might never be, but he is a serviceable QB and those are just as hard to find. Now if you don’t want to pay him franchise him and let him play another year. Let whOever takes over from the red menace evaluate Dak. I personally would like to see what this offensive group looks like under a compentent HC and an OC who doesn’t have training wheels.

Darren Woodson said it was clear the day Tony Romo walked the camp that he was the best QB On the team. Dak didn’t even practice well.

Linehan completely dumbed down the offense for Dak, so this idea that he didn’t have a competent player caller is rewriting history as well.

They could never tell where the ball is gonna be. For MOST QB's...even average ones...you expect it to be out front, you run to it. Dak...is all over the place. WR's are gonna drop, even good ones do it. But QB who consistently throw behind or low or over, cause problems with catching even half-decent ones.

Certainly, with all the stats and video available, we could put an end to this debate. Not necessarily catchable, but a ratio of "on" throws versus "off".

so why not look for a better quarterback through the draft or trade. Sticking with this guy will be like keeping garrett for five more years. same ole same ole. he's average at best, but when pressured he's below average. can't read defenses and has awful pocket awareness, but we need to settle for this crap.

Just stop. You're wrong more often than not, don't you want to be right for a change?

yup..and there is that. He is a trooper and denied that it had anything to do with his issues. But facts are, he has both hands banged up and a hurt throwing shoulder. I dare to think that maybe his grip has been affected on the ball too.

Sure let’s look for a better QB. I’m all for bringing in competition. Heck draft one. I love the idea of churning the roster to get better. Now who did you want leading the Cowboys this year I’d not Dak Prescott? Bridgewater? Did anyone expect him to even be able to play at the start of the year? Who else is there?

This. I’m by no means sold on Dak as being an elite QB but he is a QB you can win with. I’m fairly sold on that. Elite QB’s are very hard to find. Regardless of who is right or wrong about Dak’s future we have a very easy and obvious play here and the above poster I quoted nails it. Franchise him and let a new staff work with him before we cut ties with Dak. He’s absolutely gotten better. I don’t know how anyone could deny that. Give Dak a staff that isn’t full of guys playing checkers when they should be playing chess to work with him and let’s go from there. We need more data imo before we jettison Dak.
