Has everyone finally come to terms on Dak?

With this reasoning we should have cut Romo after his first season. Dak Prescott is not elite and might never be, but he is a serviceable QB and those are just as hard to find. Now if you don’t want to pay him franchise him and let him play another year. Let whOever takes over from the red menace evaluate Dak. I personally would like to see what this offensive group looks like under a compentent HC and an OC who doesn’t have training wheels.
serviceable doesnt equate to 32-35mil it equates to a bus driver type ranked 10-15 and im not offering big deal to him.. toy want to wake his agent and himself up,

Non exclusive tag pout on him so we are only on the hook for 27mil
now he and his agent can seek out other deals and we can match or decline and get 2 first rounders,
at the very least we can once and for all put to bed what hes truly worth on the market..

saying hes better then 90% of the QBs out there, no hes not maybe hes middle tier and better then half the players available at starting QB , maybe..

However , the way he played the last 5 games and I dont want to hear the excuses of dropped passes, it happens to most QBs but he ones Wide open in the phillly game the 2nd half were huge plays that could have opened the game up for a win not a loss.. Dak missed 3 Deep throws to absolutely wide open Wrs streaking toward the endzone.. he also missed anothe6 -7 throws that were high, low, and many behind, his completions were ugly they were barely catchable , so blame a few drops on his downward trend is ridiculous...

this wasn't one game its started in NE and got worse and bottomed out in philly.. im sorry I saw a QB that was no better then a backup sunday.. He has time to throw on lost of those passes, he wasn't rushed , he simply was BAD..

I was on board and middle of the road supporter of his since day 1 but this isnt 2017 where he was missing Tsmith and Zeke without much support or the start of 2018 without a top wr, the first half was bad team play all around BUT the line in the 2nd half found their legs, the Wrs were getting open and zeke was doing a lot more then the first half.

so it started to sway back to our pregame advantage but for one thing, Dak missed all the big opportunity's..hes to blame for the 2nd half meltdown..that game was easily won by us had we had QB that didnt miss wide open big play opportunity's..

this wasn't one bad game its been a bad month and here we are..im no hater but I saw a QB completely lose it not with turnover but who cares throwing many bad balls that could have been 1st downs, 1st and goals, a td or 2 missed, and leading a WR to get them out of bounds or YAC to continue droves is why he lost it..having to punt or run it over on downs because the QB missed so many plays with bad throws is why we lost..

all those missed throws equate to like 3 INts , if people cant see that then im sorry but I dont pay him wentz or goff money even if hes on their level..

Dak, Jaylon, Witten, and Garrett threads!!!! I'm thankful people keep recreating the same tired threads over and over as if it's brand new ground breaking information.

Dak is the QB next year and certainly isn't a bad one despite what the haters tell you. I agree he hasn't earned a top 5 pay day and has struggled the last few week's. Maybe Aaron Rodgers should be a backup too because of his underwhelming performance the last few weeks? What many dont realize is QB play can get a lot worse, just look at Aikman's last few year's until they found Romo. And investing a first round pick in a QB? One of the highest bust rates in the draft and sets a franchise back years.

These threads always make me chuckle. They make me think back to when euphoria gripped too many folks' minds, with the most important mind being Jerry Jones.

Jones has been the decision maker for the franchise for thirty years. Three decades. Uninterrupted. Some people think they know him. They do not.

So I knew, maybe others knew also, when Jones (being Jones) removed all his support for his long-time franchise quarterback and backed his then 2-month old career rookie quarterback 100%, it meant Jones was in it for the long haul with his new replacement at the position. That meant 2020. Maybe 2025. I will not say 2030 because I have not observed him in his 80's yet but I would not automatically rule it out either.

As always, people know what they think is best. Media, executives, coaches and players may also agree with what people think is best. It is all irrelevant. What is important and often ignored is what is happening between the ears of Jerral Wayne Jones. He has backed himself as general manager. For 30 straight years.. He has backed his head coach. For nearly a decade and a half.

For a moment, set your opinion aside. Try getting inside Jones' head for once, avoid all the bats flying around inside his skull, and consider "What Will Jerry Jones Do With Dak Prescott?"

Seriously.

Never thought he was elite. I just thought he was good and serviceable. I've been back and forth with him just about the whole time he's been here. I agree you can't pay him big money but I'd like to see what another coaching staff can do with him.

Name another "not good NFL QB" that has led the league in passing, is top 5 in QBR, and is the ONLY QB in the history of the league as a rookie in his very first playoff game passed for over 300 yards with 3 TD passes?? I'll wait for your answer.
1. His rookie year is irrelevant at this point. RG3 was good in his rookie season, as was Baker Mayfield.

2. When the hell has Dak led the league in passing?

3. What is his QBR in the games against good teams?

4. What good Quarterback do you know that constantly goes games without throwing for a TD? He is top 5 in attempts and still wont sniff 30 TDs in a season

Hes not good. I know it hurts your feelings, but you have to get over it man

Ridiculous.

Ryan Tannehill is better than Dak. Ryan Fitzpatrick is better than Dak. Teddy Bridgewater is better than Dak.

In the division, Jones, Wentz, and even Haskins look better than Dak.

Dak has the keys to a Ferrari offense of talent, and he drives it like a Honda Accord.

And now he can't run faster than Witten.

He's the definition of meh.
its the same guy that won ROY in 2016 and won 13 games. What changed for you?

he's keeping him, he's already thrown Romo under the bus so he has to keep going full steam ahead. I don't think he will change his mind on Garrett either. he's bet his whole "football" life on it. so get ready for more of the same crap, just different years.

Oh come on already.

He isnt the best of the best, but a team can win w him

The problem is that he is going to need a better supporting cast than some elite level guys, and if you pay him that way, that wont be possible.

Try not to forget how next to impossible it is to come by what you think you want at QB.

Given the rest of the roster, you're better off trying to hire a competent staff and trying to make it work w Prsscott before breaking it down completely.

Dak is an FA next year. I don't know that you are better off franchising him and going that route for two years and then letting him walk. That's two years wasted if he's not signed. It may be better to go ahead and let him test the market and just make a trade if there is a team out there who is willing. This is a deep draft for QB and there are not a lot of teams out there who need a QB IMO. If he won't sign a reasonable deal, then maybe you let the chips fall where they may? Either way, that's a decision that should not be made by Jerry or Stephen. That's a decision that should be made by the new Coaching Staff but nope, you got Stephen being "Bullish more then ever over Dak"...... Really? That is an example of what is wrong with this team. I mean, something is very wrong with Dak because there is no way that even an average HS QB misses this badly. I mean, sure, maybe you don't have the actual arm you need in the NFL but there are guys right now, in HS who show more accuracy then I'm seeing in this game from Dak. Don't get me wrong, I don't argue or throw Dak under the bus here. I'm just telling you what I'm seeing and I believe this has to be injury. There is no conceivable way that this could be anything else because these throws are way too inaccurate. I think you make a good hire, you let that staff come in and figure things out and you shut up and do what a front office is supposed to do but then again, that's never happened before so I don't expect it to happen this time either with our team.

Is what it is I guess. Damn shame though....

Your opinion cannot be dismissed, no matter how bad the Get Rid of Garrett at All Cost sentiment has growth. Jones has been repeating the same criteria forever (and it keeps flying over some people's heads). "I am the final decision maker." I, too, will only believe Garrett does not return as head coach next season when I see it.

It’s true that a lot of us (myself included) get giddy when we think of Garrett being fired and another coach coming in to right the ship. This happens every time we fire a coach and every time I fall for the “Jerry has to be convinced at this point that his way is not working” and subsequently will make the hire that puts Dallas in the best position possible to win a SB. The one time he actually came through was the hiring of Bill Parcells and I guess that little nugget gives me hope that the jackass will do the right thing this time around. I really think Dak needs new leadership and it can make a difference. It’s certainly worth the time and effort to do so given what the team has already invested in Dak.

Nice Debate. lol.."you're wrong." is not how you debate. You didn't bring any facts. ba bye.

Ignoring all his inaccurate passes as though he "Did enough" to win the game is just BS. The game was just 2 days ago, we all remember it, man. Was it Cooper's fault that Dak overshot him by 10 yards which would have been a TD?

We can argue about elite quarterbacks, what we can argue about is that they’re only about 1520 teams that have a starting Quality quarterback. The Dallas Cowboys are one of them.

we have the various pieces At all levels on both sides of the ball to control and win football games.

you can toss everything to wind in hoes of finding the next Troy Aikman.... And prepare for another string of 4 win seasons, Play staying the course of one of the best offense of lines we ever had, along with our young linebackers and pass rushers

He is not a top-five quarterback, but with balance (effective scheme/coaching) and help (WRs who actually try) he can be a top 10.

You can balance the roster and win games and maybe championships and you don’t hit the salary cap paying for one guy who (Kurt Cousins) isn’t worth it.
