What does Gruden know? The game has passed him by. Garrett gets 8 wins and you want him fired while Gruden gets 7 wins but you still think he is a football sage. Stop it, Gruden is a fool.
Well he won the Mack deal hands down for starters. He has a rookie franchise running back in place of an overpaid and ageing pass rusher that had 8.5 sacks last season. He is building a young team and with two more first round picks on the way the Raiders' window is just about to open.

I wondered why he seems so sure Sanjay is gone...because a new head coach is coming? Doesnt seem like a critical enough role the HC would automatically throw him out for another and I have only heard good things about him...so why does it seem like a foregone conclusion hes leaving without getting in to that here?

Eatman - and Engleton - has been "in the building" for over 20 years and is close to some folks in the front office including members of the Jones family. When he usually hints at something multiple times it means there is at least talk about the subject among those making decisions for the team. He hinted at the OL coach being fired 2 weeks before it happened last year on the show when you really did not hear/read anyone else talking about it.

People questioning why Ambar has a job.

It’s pretty simple. The cowboys have a large Spanish speaking fan base. Ambar handles a lot of the Spanish content on the website. The podcasts and articles, etc.

She does a nice job with that content, and does it smoother than the English speaking content, because Spanish is her first language.

As far as Amari Cooper goes.

His toughness may be questionable. Though it’s obvious he was battling injuries all season long and it’s obvious his injuries were affecting his explosiveness.

That being said. I don’t get people questioning his effort. The guy is a technician on the field. Look at the routes he runs. That’s not a natural born skill. You don’t run routes like Amari does, without working really really hard and practicing them constantly.

She's heard from people in the org who work closely with Amari that have been questioning his toughness on and off the field the last few months. Cowboys need to tread lightly with this guy.

23:40 mark. (Full Amari discussion starts at 15 min mark)

The FO should have done their due diligence and they would have already known this.

lol, did you not see his team was a full game behind the Cowboys at 7-9. All that you just said is immaterial if it still gets you a losing record.

Yeah, I always thought it weird that he continuously seemed hurt, but never hurt enough to not play. I think it might just be lack of passion for the game. Glad people even within the organization are questioning the same thing

This doesn't make sense though. If he lacked passion for the game why wouldn't he just say he's hurt enough to not play?

I've been to a couple of practices where I've seen Eatman either watching or walking off with Stephen Jones. He is close to him.

So a guy that is being paid $100 million had no input into the Mack and Cooper trades...

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...uden-for-the-khalil-mack-amari-cooper-trades/
Davis, in a conversation with Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com, addressed the controversial decisions to trade pass rusher Khalil Mack and receiver Amari Cooper. The message from Davis: Don’t blame Gruden, blame me.
taking on Mack and losing badly, Davis decided he didn’t want to go 0-2 by taking on Cooper, who also is represented by Segal, and experiencing the same outcome.

“It might not have been the right decision, but the other point to this whole thing is that Segal is also the agent for Amari Cooper,” Davis said. “And we knew the same situation was coming up the next year. It wasn’t just one layer of chess; it was two layers of chess.”

Cooper had an opportunity Thursday to address the owner's comments, and he stirred the pot when he revealed the final decision on the trade didn't come from Gruden or then-general manager Reggie McKenzie.

Instead, Cooper said Davis stepped in and overruled Gruden and McKenzie.

"They were getting calls about a first for next year and they weren't going to do it," Cooper said. "But when [Cowboys owner] Jerry Jones called about a first for this year he felt he had no choice."

That's weird. Most of the season, credible people (like Troy) were insisting he was more hurt than the team and he were letting on.

What's really going on here?

I agree with you chocolate lab! Below are the DIRECT sources:

These 2 interviews.

1. Amari Cooper. Who stated that he was a bit nicked up but good to play. But the coaches took him out. at 3:53

2. Stephen Jones stated that Kellen Moore dialed up a play for Gallup. at appx 5:45

Moore took him out of the Eagles game at the most pivotal time. To the best of my understanding. The dude has been playing hurt.

In life, some people just kinda guess or think they know everything without asking questions or checking facts. Which is never a good idea when it comes to someones health.

I think him transitioning to vegetarian/vegan makes a lot of sense as to why he has struggled with injuries more recently. The body needs protein to recover.

Yep. was just watching a video on something related to this. Protein along with good rest helps heal the body and repair muscles. Amari going vegetarian likely not only made him more injury prone, but also slowed his healing. I’m sure he took supplements, but that likely is not enough. Look at Cam Newton. He’s been injured to hell ever since he became a vegan. It’s not a good lifestyle for athletes, especially ones in the NFL.

I am aware....not doubting them, just found the comments surprising, and they gave no specific insight.

Yeah I’m not buying it. Mind you this same organization questioned the toughness of Marion Barber and Jay Ratliff. This organization will dog you out during negotiations that’s a proven fact.

Cam getting his body destroyed by tackles is more so what did him in. No amount of protein can help with all of that damage.

Both of my sisters are vegetarian and if anything they are super conscious of their nutrient intake. One is still a professional dancer and the other is a workout freak. Both have been relatively injury free for decades.
