This board control the Dallas Cowboys?
Yes
This board control the Dallas Cowboys?
I read all over this forum about Witten and how he's holding Jarwin back. But to be honest Jarwin is a nice compliment, but shouldnt be nowhere near a starter. He is unusable in the running game. And we know this because Dallas was a strictly inside run team in 2018. Why because the TEs couldnt block the outside.
And it doesnt limit the handicap only to the run game. Theres a reason Dak was sacked at a record pace in 2018 because TEs couldnt help in pass blocking either. It was horrible.
Jarwin is a nice guy to go out and run a seam or a out to the sideline and get forgotten about by the defense because he's not a threat. That would work for the team if he comes in, in situations but if he's a starter then he's not getting them suprise the defense situations.
This team needs a complete TE, theres a reason Dallas wanted Geodert with Witten moving to the booth.
As much as Witten declined with age, Jarwin isnt half the TE Witten is. Jarwin is a guy you bring in, in situations. Not a guy you depend on regularly.
IMO Cole Kmet is just what this team needs. And picking him at 17 would be a great for this team. I see needs on defense but this defense needs veteran leadership. They have plenty of young talent who arent ready to be leaders. The offense is full of vet leaders. With the cap this team has, go and pluck a couple of vets in FA for this defense that are able to lead on the field.
Ignoring the loss of Witten would be a huge mistake as Dak found out in 2018 when im sure plenty of Monday mornings he woke up sore from the beating he took on sunday.
How can you teach guys how to block? You are either willing or not.
No thanks, another player over-hyped by fans.
Smart football people that watch film know that Jarwin is a budding star at the TE position. Stick with your under the radar guy at TE and spend the money and resources elsewhere.

Witten was a terrible blocker early in his career. I also think he has whiffed too much these days to be be considered a good blocker. I'd go with Jarwin and never look back.
You serious, mate?

Maybe we can be more active in free agency as well.I read all over this forum about Witten and how he's holding Jarwin back. You didnt get enough of Jarwins blocking in 2018 with Daks 58 sacks?
The problem isn't on offense. The Cowboys had the #1 offense WITH JWit. Just sign a vet to take his place and use the draft capital on defense where it's needed.IMO Cole Kmet is just what this team needs. And picking him at 17 would be a great for this team
Safety class is so weak. Delpit is all hype. That bama guy isnt special eitherAccording to Matt Miller column today
Cowboys st 17 looking DT, safety or trade back based on his league contacts.
Kmet appears to be a second rounder as of your post today but after the NFL scouts make their draft boards he will probably be a mid first round pick. Are there any other tight ends that we need to take a look at in the draft or free agency?I read all over this forum about Witten and how he's holding Jarwin back. What are so many needs? We have so many needs.
Draft the best player of position of need
Kmet is going to move up with testing , just like Simmons is going to blow up with his testing. Right now Simmons is top 10, after testing dont be suprised if Simmons is top 4Kmet appears to be a second rounder as of your post today but after the NFL scouts make their draft boards he will probably be a mid first round pick. duh, but if you didnt notice his blocking in 2018 then you just dont know. Witten is 37 yrs old. A whiff here and there is understandable. But he's still a very good blocker. Not all of the 58 sacks is Jarwin's fault. Besides, I've see some terrible whiffs by Witten himself. He's not as good as he used to be.
Simmons the Clemson linebacker? He won't get past the Giants.Kmet is going to move up with testing , just like Simmons is going to blow up with his testing. Right now Simmons is top 10, after testing dont be suprised if Simmons is top 4
lol, I love how people keep saying they had the number one offense. Yards means NOTHING if you can't outscore your opponent. So tracking an offense based on yards is ridiculous. It should be on scoring for the season. Most of their scoring came against garbage teams too...so even that is misleading. The offense was certainly a problem as was the defense and special teams. Want an example? Dallas held the Patriots to 13 points. That's really good. But our number one (haha) offense scored how much? 9. Dallas held the Saints to 12 points...how much did the vaunted number one offense score in response? Oh..10.
To determine who came on top in the NFC East in a head to head versus the Eagles in the second to last game, our defense held the Eagles to 17 points (Who were admittedly using practice squad guys)...how much did our amazing offense score against an injury riddled team? oh yeah, 9 points.
So against ANY team with anything remotely considered a good defense, our number one offense was not a problem? HAHAHAHAHAH.. The offense holds just as much blame as the defense and special teams. Sorry to burst your bubble.
9 points, 10 points, 9 points ...that's almost never enough to win any games. Yes, they averaged 27.125 points per game, but 6 of those games were against teams that were arguably tanking or were just that bad...which skewed the scoring and yardage numbers big time.
