Marvin Lewis must be the guy they are threatening us with so when we get Mike McCarthy some will say “be happy, we could have gotten Lewis”.

How is a guy with Lewis career of failure even in consideration?

Marvin Lewis is a well respected coach around the NFL and so is Mike McCarthy.

Marvin Lewis was the guy that somehow kept his job 5 years longer than anyone thought he should have. Kind of like JG. Lewis hasn’t won squat.
His record makes Garrett look like Bill Bilicek.

I like Marvin Lewis.
good man.
I do not like him as a head-coach.
his Cincinnati teams were undisciplined...and under achieved.

let it die until NEW news come on any of them... :)

whos next im betting early next week a few more scheduled.. so best bet? im thinking Meyer first of college guys given hes close to what they typically hire as a HC ie walk around leader type that will hire strong coordinators..

He hasnt been a 3-4 guy in a while, and even when he was more of of a Hybrid. Rex Ryan used a variation of his scheme. Lewis defense's in Cincinnati were 4-3's. However he also had Zimmer run the defense.

My question about Lewis as a DC here isn't so much about scheme. Its that it has been so long since he ran and NFL defense. Zimmer ran the defense for as long as Zimmer was in Cincy
Talking about Mccarthy... his defenses in GB were 34! Lewis being interviewed to run a 43 under mccarthy!

Marvin Lewis has a super bowl ring as a cood. As a HC he took the Cincinnati Bengals to the playoffs seven years in a row in a division and conference that was loaded with perineal playoff teams and super bowl champions. He has accomplished just as much or more than every Cowboys HC since Jimmy Johnson. Please stop disrespecting this mans football accomplishments. Yes, he was 0-7 in the playoffs...but how many times did the team who beat him make it to the AFC championship game or the Super Bowl?

His teams play hard. Fast. And Physical football.

Black/minority coaches don't get many HC opportunities in the league already (I don't think there has been a season where there were more than 5 coaches in the NFL). Most NFL owners are all about the network of people they know and are familiar with despite there being plenty of assistants and coordinators on every team with potential. This is all my opinion but I honestly don't see Jerry being any different, considering he's probably deeply entrenched in that network.
Personally, I don't care who, as long as he's qualified.
