Yeah, and NONE of those super bowls can be credited to josh McDaniels. He's just another OC in a long line of OCs in NE that looked real good b/c they have Brady managing the offense. We saw in Denver that without Belechik and Brady, Josh is just an average football coach.

He wasn’t even average.

Or the fact that the last time he was a head coach, he was caught spying.

He brought the Patriots video guy with him. If I remember correctly, that was the same main personnel video filming guy during Spygate with the Patriots. It was Dante Scarnecchia, the Patriots OL Coach, son.

McDaniels sucked not only in Denver, but with the Rams as OC after the failed experiment at Mile High. Plus he tried to reproduce Spygate in Denver. McDaniels was OC with the Rams under Spagnola and they had like the 30th ranked scoring offense.

Guy is nobody without Bellichek babysitting him or making Half time adjustments for him.

He’s garbage and he also won’t have Dante Scarnecchia as an OL coach. Just because McCarthy sucks doesn’t mean he is good either.

I agree but I’d still take McDaniels over McCarthy because he could potentially be great as to where McCarthy is a do nothing retread.

But we aren’t even stuck in that position. I think both would be bad.

I remember when Billicheck and Brady never won a Super Bowl without Charlie Weis

Good times

6x SB > 1x SB, also was the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback coach when Patriots had the most potent offense in the NFL.

I'm thrilled with anybody to replace Garrett.

Jerry won't have the Garrett type attachment to the replacement...

If the replacement fails, Stephen Jones will be able to just fire him and hire his preference without delay.

In fact, I get the feeling that Stephen Jones has moved forward with interviewing new Head Coaches while Jerry is still "drawing on a napkin" as he explains to Garrett why he is being replaced.

Note: See stories about when TO was cut if you don't know the napkin story.

I personally think McD ultimately will be Jerry's preference--his admiration for the NE system has been unmistakable through the years, and if you can't have Belichick, he'll take what he considers to be the next best thing.

And I think McD will benefit from already having had the Denver experience, and wherever he ends up, is going to be a good HC.

* Btw, that he drafted Tebow is a pretty hollow reason to be anti-McD, as-if every team and personnel person doesn't have some pick they wish they could do over. And pretty much after every draft, that's the case.

But I don't know that McD will be able to get done what this franchise most needs to get done, which is to demand a restoration of normalcy and an end to the dysfunction that is the direct consequence of how the owner/GM marginalizes the accountability of the players and staff to the head coach.

McC, on the other hand, brings the resume' and SB experience with him that can allow him to stand toe-to-toe with Jerry and say, "If you want me, these are my terms, and I'm not coming here unless you meet them. Number one, I am the head coach, and everyone under me answers to me, and your only job with regard to anything related to coaching is to nod your head "yes" and back me up when I make decisions"

It desperately needs to happen.

Not if McDaniels loses today right though? Cause people dont want Riley because he lost.
