Dak is an average QB.

LOL. Let's SEE how AVERAGE Troy Aikman would be replacing Johnson with Garrett, Norv Turner with Kellen Moore, his all pro OL with this underachieving OL, his dominate elite SB defenses with this underachieving defense that can't get turnovers, his best reciever Irvin who showed up big time against elite CB's replaced by Cooper who disappears vs elite CB's. And finally no Emmitt replaced by Zeke, who is up and down and rarely uses his speed on the outside.

Dak finished the season playing with a bad shoulder, thus reason for some of his late struggles. Give him an OC that will play to his strengths.

Cowboys 2019 efficiency rankings, per ESPN.

Offense: 3rd

Defense: 18th

Special teams: 30th

Overall: 8th

I guess it’s just not as fun to blame the defense and special teams, is it?

Get your Dak Garbage here folks!!!

It wasn't directed at you.

I just decided to put the info in there after making the point about who will get hired as head coach.

The new head coach needs to have authority, but we will also need to be on board with Dak Prescott as his quarterback in order to get the job.
I hope he is on board with Dak but just because he doesn't have Dak doesn't mean it won't work though or can't get the job done. However drafting a QB will set the team back until her develops

Though I agree Aikman would not have been as good without Irvin, his O-line, Emmitt, amongst other things, Dak only had a bad shoulder in the last 3 games, so what happened to him in Green Bay? Chicago? Buffalo? Early in the Jets game? Plus, Dak’s weapons are fine enough. Though they have better coaching, Tannehill, Derrick Henry, Corey Davis, and bunch of other unknowns are currently going to the divisional round after starting out 2-4. Dak has no excuses to get it done with players like Amari, Gallup, Cobb, Zeke, and his O-line that’s still great despite being overrated.

Also, what kind of scheme do you think Dak would succeed in? He’s had two OC’s... common denominator is that Dak may just not be that great. He’s not fast, he can’t throw in stride, he can’t play single high safety, etc. the QB has to learn to overcome these things, and he has yet to do so....

Trade 11 players to Cincinnati to get their number one. LVE, J.Smith, D.Martin, and a bunch of nobodies. Then draft Joe Burrow and Laviska Shenault with our two first round picks. We can save a lot of money going that route, plus it opens the door for us to put some heart on our defense.

This is the craziest Dak thread, yet. Dak WILL BE the QB of this team...period....whether you want him or not...smh
I think Jerry and Stephen know that a new head coach will not want to be tied down with a multi-year, high-dollar deal on Dak, which is why he wasn't signed in 2019.
The only way Dak was going to get the big money was if he made Jason Garrett look good enough to the fans to warrant an extension for him.
But both Dak and Jason disappointed and failed to deliver even a division title in a very weak NFC East, let alone playoff wins.
Think what you want, but there's no such thing as coincidence when money is involved.
If Jerry believed in Dak he would have already been signed.
I think Jerry knows that he's looking at a major rebuild with the 2020 team.

If Zimmer were to be the new head coach- as has been widely rumored- don't be surprised to see him reunite with Keenum, who led the Vikings to the NFC Championship game.
Kirk Cousins will likely be available as well, but I'd be surprised if Zimmer chose Cousins over Keenum again.

That's even crazier yet. Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. You honestly think the Cowboys are about to rebuild? We have one of the most talented teams in the NFL yet we're going to rebuild...lol. Good luck with that thought.

No rookie it's going to come in and win the superbowl, it's not happening. Never has, never will. That rookie has to develop and will set the team back until that happens.

A lot of Dak’s stats are from long field’s because of poor special team play also besides the garbage time stats.

They are also because of one deep safety man on the outside all day long, because teams dare him to beat them with his arm, while focusing on Zeke.

Dak isn’t the issue
Dak should be resigned
If Dak leaves the Dak haters deserve what’s coming.

And your point is what that 8-8 and kicking FG all day is the way to go the next 5 years?
Pass man as I'm a Cowboy fan, not a Dak groupie or employee sorry.
Move up in the draft and sign a Fa QB and do what all other NFL teams do roll the dice for a Franchise Qb through the draft!
Dak is not a franchise QB and NEVER will be!

Garrett is the FG guy and the 8-8 guy.

And you're wrong, Dak is a franchise QB. You should start to love it or maybe find another team to cheer for because Dak will be here for many more years to come.
