McCarthy has enough skins on the wall that I'm assuming Jerry made some concessions. This is not a guy desperate for any job. He had multiple teams interested. He interviewed with 4 already.

So if I'm right that Jerry compromised, this is a good hire.

That's what I thought too. I wanted a coach with a decent history. Not some experimental college coach. We're more likely to get a Chip Kelly before seeing JJ again.

This was a bad hire. This guy had the best QB in the NFL and didn't really do much with him. Yea he won a super bowl and of course thats great but somehow that feels like a major underachievement considering the Qb.

Most likely he is giving Jerry a few names he knows. Jerry interviews and hires them. Jerry isnt giving this up.

Until the Packers bottomed out in 2017-2018, MM was consistently considered one of the top 5 coaches in the NFL.

Things got ugly at the end, very much like they did for Andy Reid.

Will be interested to see how this goes.

Quite frankly those Packers teams literally had almost next to no talent outside of d0uche stache [Rodgers]. This is the most talented roster that McCarthy has probably ever had & the guy has coached 18 playoff games.

When has mccarthy had a top defense or a legit running game. Who was the last great GB running back you remember.

Yes he had rodgers, but at times he ONLY had rodgers and really nothing else. He still made the playoffs 9 of 13 years. How can you not take that? He's an upgrade over garret anyday of the week.

This guy walks in right away and commands respect of the players because of that ring on his finger. It doesn't matter how he got it, he's proven.
