At this stage really hoping that Nolan and his assistant coaches can light a fire under one of the most disappointing players in 2019, Demarcus Lawrence. He forced a cap hit of 21 million last season and produced 5 sacks on the season? We paid for elite and got trash. 5 sacks, all other top pass rushers in the league even getting double team still produced while Lawrence play was pathetic. He did a lot of jawing during the season yet was never a game changing factor on the season. The man needs to rededicate himself and play to the level of elite

He didn't force anything, Jerry didn't have to sign him. The lack of an elite DT hurt him, I never questioned his hustle. But, I get where you're coming from.

My issue with Lawrence is all the Hotboyz stupidity. Where does that group get off promoting themselves as a modern Doomsday D? It is beyond ridiculous. They should all just shut up and play. Earn a nickname.

He held out to get a deal and Jerry paid him was that Jerry fault? sure, no doubt Jerry would have caught hell had he not signed Lawrence given the fact that he was in double digit sack the 2 season prior. Add to that Lawrence knowing he needed shoulder surgery waits to the last second to get it done. As for lack of DT it did not slow down Quinn DLaw problem was his play not anyone else. Frustrating part is knowing a player is capable of great play then seeing him play piss poor all the while jawing week in and week out yet never backing it up with the play.

A 'good' player that managed to hustle himself into a 'great' contract. But a self-centered dummy who totally lacks any sense of self awareness. And a clear example of one of the guys that the team looked to for leadership that failed miserably at it because he's too much about himself. A guy who brags about spending money on social media while being embarrassed on gamedays by backup tackles. The guy who was the biggest reason why this team was getting bashed by every mobile quarterback they faced because he was ignored his responsibilities in the defense to 'get his'.

I hope Tomsula can do something with him, because we're stuck with the contract for at least another two years.

He's not trash but the scheme and lack of talent inside made it much easier for offenses to take him away and make him ineffective.

People have complained about inside DT in the other years as well yet Lawrence produced but not last year, Quinn had no issue putting up 11.5 sacks on the season. You pay a player elite money it comes with expectation that player will continue to produce not fall flat on his face.

I don't disagree, it is frustrating knowing a player has the talent to produce at a top level yet turns around after a contract that make him the highest paid DE in the NFL give us little to nothing on the season. Yeah I hope to see Nolan light some kind of fire under DLaw

disappointing sack #'s given the contract but he didn't play badly. He was still a force. It doesn't all show up on the stat sheet.

Having said that, I hope a new regime humbles him a few pegs. He can & should be better & cut out all the crap.

I'm sure some are going to chime in that sacks aren't everything. And they're not.

But Lawrence's numbers are down about 30% across the board compared to last year.

Solos, Assists, TFLs, QB Hits, Hurries, Pressures. Only QB Knock Downs are the same at 10.

I wonder how much of it was due to getting surgery late and not being ready when the season started
Hopefully Nolan and MM can fix a lot of the motivation issues on this team
