(sigh) Another "stat wh**e". I have watched this team for many years. I have seen the great, the good and the trash. Dak is a stud, a real athlete, HOWEVER, his passing skills are, well let's say, poor. He is consistently late and behind open receivers, especially on the favored slant pattern. Many of his deep passes are short of the preferred spot and receivers who have open field in front of them have to slow down and I have seen them have to STOP in order to catch the pass.
Now, going back to your statement that when this team passes early they win and when they run early they loose, I would tell you that what I have seen is when this team played a competent NFL defense that understood that Dak is the limitation of the team and took Zeke away (regardless of Qtr) and forced the Cowboys to use Daks arm as the primary weapon (more than 30 throws) they (the Cowboys) lost. Dak still got his yards due to the difference in defenses being played when the score is out of reach or when the opponent is just laying back keeping everything in front of them.

Can this team win with Dak at QB? No doubt, but they have to play a new kind of offense. It has to be centered on the run with mostly short, quick passes and the occasional mid range pass and near zero deep passes.

As for "understanding the game and situational football", my question is, when did you learn that phrase?

Imma quote you because I seem to agree 100%. Not as some "situational football expert"...but a long time fan who just enjoys watching football. Not just the Cowboys.

Dak is a good quarterback...with few true weaknesses. One of them is indeed....some poor passing location on specific plays. The slant...especially out. Deep as well.

You never said "dak sucks"....just that there's an issue there, which can be cleary seen on viewing. We've seen stats on "dropped passes" (which I do not blame all on receivers!). I am sure Dak's "on target" stat could be calculated...does he place the ball in optimal location, like many even average QB can do?

what else would you like him to say publicly with 600camera on him? hes right I mean the playoff game dak players and ton of tape shows some great play.. hes not going to mention in a hire interview that he saw some Bad dak..lol I never once heard Belecheck criticize Brady this year and brady looked BAD...

Hoodie almost never criticizes his players, only himself. If he does criticize it mostly generic in nature. But yeah, MM isn't gonna say anything negative in the spotlight, at least not yet.

That was a either a one week thing or it was never much of a factor. Seeing as though he threw for 300 yards and 4 TD's the next week.
Yeah, nice recovery game. Wonder what the issue is, though. He said it bothered him on and off in college. Just think it affected his game that one week and maybe others, for all we know.

Maybe. That was probably the worst game he ever had. But its not like the rest of the team showed up either.

However, it was THAT big stinker that finally got Garrett expunged from Dallas. In a way, it was Dak's most important game of his career to date. And his horrible play was just what the doctor ordered.

I am glad you said PLAN and not PROCESS. :muttley:
Loool yes...clinically boring detached explanations, but no answers. . Way doctors talk to you...sterile. Well funny thing is...McCarthy used it a few times in presser. I was like nooooo don’t use that word. He doesn’t know Dallas yet though. Really,he’s in awe the franchise and facitlites like a kid at Disneyland first time. Looool. GB is nothing like this at all, the worlds biggest stage a football HC can perform on,he’s tripping on it alright. Fans or reporters will have to clue him in on the “process” though.

Yeah, we can call it, "fortuitous," (eh Jerry?) Just didn't see any real team consistency to give us any real hope for future seasons. This past season was truly make or break for a number of reasons. Do most players really feel confident enough when a coach is having a lame duck/prove it season?

Lol, yeah Dak equals Favre and Rodgers. It’s actually quite remarkable he only has one Super Bowl with those guys.

Sean Payton has had Drew Brees his entire career, has one SB ring, and half of the people on this board think SP walks on water.

Causation is a problem with you huh? You make a snide comment about stats and then you use them without the context needed to understand them. You actually made my point.

What was the common factor in those 30+ throw losses? We came out running on first down, went 3 and out, and fell behind by multiple scores. What happens when teams go down 21 points? They become one dimensional. You are blaming passing for losing, when in fact, not running effectively is why we fell behind in the first place. Oh, FYI Dak threw it 30 or more times in 6 of our 8 wins.

So now may be a good time to bow out, because you are making a complete fool out of yourself.

It obvious that you are way more intelligent than me. One thing you missed in my post is that I was talking about COMPETENT NFL Defenses. How many COMPETENT teams did the Cowboys beat this season? Don't bother answering. It was ZERO. Our team feasted on poor teams and lost to good ones, heck, we even lost to a couple of bad ones.

One game doesn't equal someone is capable of much of anything. Where do some get their logic from?

One game my ***. Dak is 17-14 vs top 15 defenses in his career. This year was an anomaly at 1-7. Come correct.

Calling all Dak Hater's PLEASE talk some sense into this Superbowl winning coach!

It's funny. You guys post stuff like this and then call out posters who state their opinions on Prescott. How do you expect this type of post to make anything better? Maybe the answer is you don't? Seems like two sides of the same coin, a little bit.

He can say whatever he wants ( and i like him as our new coach) but until i see a long term deal for Dak (meaning no franchise tag) i won't believe he is sold on him. If/when i see that i will believe McCarthy is all in on Dak. Lets see what happens

But Dak can't pass?
sure he can but not relying on the run game to set up up the pass a mistake,, Lamar Jacksons not much of a passer ,more of thrower..hes protected by the run game.. actually 4 of the top rated run offenses are in the playoffs.. Titans beat brady with Tannehill and a strong run game..

what happened to Goff your boy disappeared when Gurley and CJ wasn't carrying the offense..dude stole money from the rams owner.maybe he and gurley should pay it back lol at least dak only made 2mil this year and zeke still made top 4 in rushing..

Oh and we ran right over you all so go back to your home...you have no skin in this game...
