This guy looks like he has allot to offer in both making these players better as well as the camaraderie of the guys who play for him.
How many of our starters play on Sundays outside of kickoffs/punts? You don't think they take what they learn and utilize it in all there skillset?

Just a ST's coach? Yeah well there's been nothing special about our ST's for close to 2 decades.

Terrible field position, other than Bailey in his prime, missed FG's. Poor penalties, poor coverage. Fumbling and losing the ball in our own end.

Here's to hoping there's some special in our ST's because it has been awhile.

Did a little bit of research, Greg the Leg is a FA. Let's hope Bones brings him w him..

Maybe not actually, lol

He didn't have a very good year
From what I remember he was injured for a good part of the season that I think played into that.

But I'd definitely to see some competition in here and curious who our next punter will be as well.

If he can teach the boys that “if you can see the numbers on the back of their jersey you don’t touch them “ - on kick return blocking. I learned that in peewee football for goodness sake. Blocking in the back should never happen but does ALL the time on most teams.

The Spagnola Principle does not apply nearly as much as that worm wants you to think it does.

Coaches leave for a variety of reasons. Money. Desire for a change. Feeling the organization does not appreciate them.

I am a little interested to see why a team fresh off a SB appearance would purse themselves of 2/3rds of their senior staff.
Maybe they can't stand their coach or have disagreement with him.... you never know.. I guess we will find out later on

All comes down to discipline and accountability. Hopefully this coach can bring both back. At 50% Fassel is 100% better than our last ST coach...

When you have the worst special teams in the league, you can't go no where else but up. Cannot wait to see what Fassel can do for this unit.

He was mentioned for the USC job I think had they fired Helton. His energy looks like he’d be a phenomenal college head coach.

He's just a ST coach, folks. It's not a big deal. You people are acting like a starving person that was just given a cracker.

We constantly had horrible starting field position, no return game(lots of penalties), nothing creative, teams exploiting our return coverages, missed kicks, pathetic punts mixed with bad coverage, etc, etc. It was obvious the entire roster was clueless on special teams.

As bad as the season was, we were Joe Avezzano away from making the playoffs.

I can not fathom how someone is not taking ST seriously after the first season the ST coach had, and than JJ and crew saying "lets keep him on" dear lords he wasnt just aweful, he woke up and trained his best to be that god aweful. and some fans still dont appreciate ST.

You're gonna like this guy, Joe.
Best ST coach since Joe Avezzano, but better.

If we can agree that Special Teams cost us at least 2 games in 2019,
"Bones" usually has his group pull one out each year.

If I'm gettin' this analytics stuff correct, that should put us at 12-4 in 2020.
And that's just from hiring a ST coach... lol/ mostly j/k.
