Would most be happy if draft and FA yielded TE, DT and safety?

CB is a big need. Losing Byron Jones & Anthony Brown. Awuzie is a bust. Much bigger need to fill over safety. CB & DT should be priority #1 in draft.

Mike's drafting history shows DB position is a top priority for him. With the exception of a couple of players, this unit may see huge changes.

Depends on when we take said TE. If we take one ahead of a solid DLineman, DB or LB..I'd be a smidge upset.

Assuming we don't take care of one in FA afterwards. I don't feel M.Smith/J.Thomas should prevent Dallas from drafting a promising stud in the first 4 rounds.

Unless, of course, we get Simmons in the first.

Lots of options.

My hope is they spend the next two years rebuilding the entire DL. They are stuck with Lawrence for a few years due to his contract but the rest of the line can be replaced. Nolan knows the value of a dominant DL and my hope is he starts there. I am not convinced that the Cowboys have any of the players they need on the DL. I like Quinn but he seems like a situational pass rushers who can be a liability against the run. Lawrence, like LVE, Smith, and Awuzie seemed to regress this year. The Cowboys need a lot of help in the middle, much more than 1 DT. Anyone notice how the Eagles defense improved when Jernigan returned from injury to play along side Cox? Its unfortunate that the Cowboys have so many free agents on defense this year. The DL should be the first priority.

This years draft and FA periods yielded a TE,DT and Safety of quality

1. A good TE is pretty important in "Big Mike's" WC offence. (Witten gone?)

2. I think Nolan would love a big belly to eat space in the middle.

3. Heath can't last forever.

starting 1T DT and 3T DT
Starting FS and SS
Starting TE

regardless of order its needs to be top heavy in Defense..TE can wait develop Jarwin and Shultz plus add a FA journeymen..

this should be about defense giving all the UFAs on that side oif the ball and the new DC can now choose what type of D we use by the players he can go get..

Heath would be a 4th safety and a specialteamer on a team with real safeties. I want 2 big DT's, a Big left Guard and at least 1 new SS and maybe a FS too. Anything after that is gravy. After that I would probably rank the needs as TE, CB, LB, QB2.

I could live with a Cooper, Gallup and Perriman trio.

I wonder how much he'd cost compared to Cobb.

For what it is worth, Sportrac thinks that Cobb's market value is $7.1M per year (2 yr, $14.3M). I believe Perriman was on a 1 yr, $4M deal this last year.

Getting back to the original question... YES! I'd be thrilled with a great TE, great 1T and a great SS, either in the draft or in combo with FA.

If we can get a SS like Jamal Adams in FA, that will sure take the pressure off the draft. It will be easier to get two great players in the draft, rather than three.

I think we will see a safety signed in Free Agency. They were active last year but just didn’t get it done. It will be even more important this year under a new regime and with Heath being a free agent himself. Look for a former Packer with McCarthy or someone that was with Nolan on the Saints. Ha Ha Clinton Dix (drafted by MM) and Vonn Bell (Saints) both come to mind. Damarius Randall is also a Free Agent who played DB in GreenBay under Mike McCarthy.

All I know is we need to be active in free agency and very productive in the draft this year.

Needs are: 2-DT, 1 Safety, 1-CB, 1-LB, I-OL, 1-WR, 1-TE looking for 8 new players added between Free Agency and the 2020 NFL Draft. We need to hit on five in the draft and three in free agency.

The player I see to Dallas in several mock drafts is DT Kinlaw from S. Carolina and I don't think I've ever seen him play
