Well, to be honest we can’t really tell is McCarthy is an offensive guru or not, because his offense got stale and he never exploited match-ups per guys like Greg Jennings. Jennings played in GB until 2012 and he said this issue was around then. The issues didn’t just surface per Jennings in Rodgers later years.

He also said McVarthy would most likely improve the Cowboys though and he was optimistic about the video of how he was trying to hone his skills.

Reid has and is innovative offensively. And Jennings himself used Reid as the example saying Reid was special.

special without a SB trophy..ok ill take the 4 NFCCG appearances and Lombardi trophy over a observation that Reid is more special..

putting up huge stats in the RS and falling short for the big prize isnt special..we all know how this stats are here lots of them in the RS and no trophys for a while..

im not saying Reid isnt a great coach but saying hes better then MM when MM clearly has had more success..

you knw whos better and special Bill bellecheck..

The only thing that's acceptable to me is Super Bowl victories.

Thats scary. I suspect that is why he wants to keep Moore as offensive coordinator.

Doesn't scare me at all. But I skimmed through it since there is a post asking that we pick a couple paragraphs and not post entire articles.

Gotta figure, "a shiny penny gets a lot of attention, but an old penny spends just as well."

Andy Reid is still going.
McVay is out of the play-offs.

I think Moore has that “next McVay” feel about him. I also think Mc sees Moore as someone who has bright ideas that he can incorporate into his scheme. That also tells me Mc is a coach who is willing to adapt and change, or at least I hope that’s what it means.

McCarthy's job history is sparkling, so long as you concentrate on the big picture and ignore the fact that the Packers have been running the same five plays over and over since 2015.

Sorry... that particular line, if there's some legitimacy to it (and I never studied GB to know either way), is scary, in light of the fact that JG was criticized for running the same 10 plays over and over again.

Andy Reid is a great offensive coach. He made McNabb think he should be a hall of famer. Reid might have actually won a Super Bowl if he didn't have McNabb dragging him down. I also think personal issues brought Reid's time in Philly to an end. That being said, it takes a good defense to win a championship, too, and that is something Andy Reid never really cultivated.
Yeah, those Jim Johnson defenses sucked hard, didn't they?

Since both of them are offensive gurus and had 13 year stays in their first stops, would you be happy if Mike McCarthy turned out like Andy Reid: Many more years in second job, in the playoffs every year with a chance to win it, relevant for his entire tenure but never winning a Super Bowl until, maybe, later in his tenure?
Would be tickled pink, but Big Mac has already won the big one.

If Mike McCarthy becomes like Andy Reid I'd like to open a tailor shop near the stadium.

..lol...funny, these are the same fans when McCarthy won the super and took them many times to playoffs. Then he has a couple of avg seasons, and they want his head.

Translation: if McCarthy hasn't drastically changed his approach, expect more of the same. :(

i'm hoping McCarthy becomes even better than Andy Reid is using the run game to his advantage far more successfully.
it's often seems like an abandonment with Reid as it seems like its all placed on Pat Mahomes, ..and he's throwing 50 times, and taking a lot of pops and licks in the process,
and that's gonna be too much a toll on him come Baltimore-playoff time.
it does seem Reid is finally getting a much more competitive enough defense to better his Chiefs chances.

another thing to note is the Andy Reid coaching tree that will see assistants turn HC's - Matt Nagy, maybe eventually Eric Bienemy, etc.
Dunno if McCarthy has such a coaching tree.
Philbin - Dolphins
McAdoo - Giants

Those are most recent off the top of my head

I think you are seeing things in reverse.

Your question should be would Andy Reid be happy with MMs results career-wise.

M/M has a SB title and many multiple Division and Conference titles before coming here.

He runs rings around even Bill Parcells and his track record.

So while an interesting question for debate..

I see it a little differently.

Even given Rodgers success with MM and now his season..

MM is the main common denomination in the equation. Rodgers tries to hold himself above MM with a new coaching staff..

he ain't there yet and may not unless they fix their defense more and diversify their offense more.

Rodgers by himself has had his best days behind him. He is not a Manning to me.

If even half the class and ACCOUNTABILITY at post game presser podium speeches is shown by McCarthy as compared to Reid he would definitely win me over.

Have always enjoyed that as Coach Reid's most compelling and charismatic character trait. He will take the hit for his team and every single players performance on that team. This incredible leadership type quality is why I have always been a Reid fan.

It's the exact opposite of the Non ACCOUNTABILITY disease that has gone on for a near quarter century in Dallas so I will take any measure or degree of it no matter how small the portion. If it's from the head coach's mouth that is just icing on the cake compared to all the scapegoating and under the bus ploys of so many higher ups in Dallas for so many years now. So yeah, be like Reid you say? Sign me up.

They're both identically great coaches. Only difference, McCar won a SB as HC whereas Reid won a SB under Holmgren.

are you saying McCarthy is a better coach than Parcells and runs rings around him?
