If you're going to sign/franchise Dak, the time to do it is now

Watson and Mahomes are about to sign league changing deals that would only make it difficult to pay Prescott. Watson and Prescott are more comparable so if Houston gives him the bank, it's going to be hard to make a deal that is fair for both parties

I personally don't want the tag because it's just another stupid thing hovering over our heads. We know Jerry likes Prescott, and I believe McCarthy does too. He's won a playoff game and won the division twice. It's kind of hard to match that production.

Do it now before it gets even more unrealistic. The waiting game is stupid at this point

Sign him now
Its gonna seem cheap in a couple years
The only issue is the new CBA
I think until it’s done it’s gonna keep teams from signing some of these huge deals
Got to know the rules you are signing under

Had a chance before the season started. Went up 3-5 million per year after this year. Even though I would have liked to see him a little more accurate. They are gonna sign him soon. Just give him the 4 year deal instead of pushing the longer deal JJ and SJ wants.

In the words of Stephen Jones, "Dak just needs to work with us(Cowboys) a little bit."
Dak doesn't deserve to be paid like Brady, Brees, or Rodgers has been, and certainly not like Mahomes will be.
He should be happy to accept a deal that makes him a multi-millionaire but not expect marquee pay.
But he is very serviceable at quarterback, and it's possible that McCarthy can get him to a higher level.
But the Cowboys cannot and should not be expected to mortgage the future of the franchise on a quarterback who quit on the team this season and who has accuracy and leadership issues.
He just needs to accept that he is not at that level yet and give the Cowboys and himself more time to be sure of his ability to grow past what we have seen.
If not, cut him loose. He will be a backup with any other franchise very soon after signing.

Note the words "has been" in your post. Markets don't freeze in time, and a better QB who signed in past years may find himself making less money than one who signs in a current year. That's just how it works. People need to get past the idea that pay is a player ranking system. It's not, it's a reflection of supply and demand and what teams are willing to pay. It's the market.

Good on you trying to use logic and such but this person literally included Brady who we all know has played for half price because he has a wife making mega-millions.
Logic is unlikely to reach him.

I actually don't see that at all. Wentz, Wilson, and Watson made the playoffs this year. He didn't. If anything, he should've taken a deal after the Dolphins game when he was coming off a playoff win, division title, and was starting the season 3-0

Next year is their 4th year. They'll probably get signed after next season as they have a 5th year option.

Jerry Jones will sign Dak Prescott. The contract will be finalized as soon as both men agree to terms.

"bu bu but when will that happen???" Good question. No one hold their breath.

This is def what I expect to happen......my guess it will be a 5 year deal that lets both parties take another look in 3 years. Other words, three years of guaranteed money.....

I said it last year they should have locked him up before wentz and goff got done. I knew this past year was going to be better than 2018. Maybe the jones' didnt offer a good enough deal or dak wanted to prove it.

JJ may surprise a few people. A lot of posters were absolutely convinced Dak would be signed before last season. Him being a FA was inconceiveable. But here we are, he's out of contract now.
