He has a good mentor.

I still recall Jimmy telling Norv what he wanted called in critical moments. I can see MM doing the same with Moore.
THIS!!!! This is common with good head coaches that don't call plays. They dictate the flow of the game and tell their coordinator what he wants called when in certain situations. I like it!!!

Just smart........why fix what's not broken. Mike will still control the offensive standards........don't worry people.
exactly. Great point..I also said this. It would be idiocracy to tinker too much with something that was effective. The issues were coaching and bad tackling, scheme on D. Clearly the Defense was poorly prepped all year.

There isn't a chance in hell I'll believe Fat Mike would do this on his own. This was a concession to the lunatic Owner. I've been waiting on this decision to see if real change has taken place and today I was told it hasn't.

Jerry is 77 years, 3 months and 3 days old.
man I hope your wrong.

Don't be so sure about that

MM is on record as saying that it is instrumental for the play caller to be heavily involved in the game planning...one of the bigger lessons he learned in green bay

This absolutely opens the door for MM to continue his daily massages without having to feel like he's letting the team down

Yes, and this is my thinking. He's taking Moore under his wing. Letting him call what he sees fit, but he'll probably teach him what to call and when. I think McC will be very good for Moore.

I think he might influence Moore's calls. I get the sense that he's going to see how Moore can handle it using his own playbook and help him where he can. I trust McCarthy.
AFTER further reading..Clarence Hill just stated MM said we ARE moving to the WEST COAST OFFENSE...HIS SYSTEM..but keeping the same terminology in place. THAT is smart..helps Dak and quickens the learning curve.

This makes a lot of sense to me.

1. About to sign Dak long term, don’t change the terminology on him.
2. Can still run new WCO plays, just called using old terminology
3. McCarthy says he thinks 3:1 about the team program versus offense. So install your offense, help with game plan, but leave bulk of work to Moore. Said biggest lesson was person who installs offense during the week needs to call plays, so expect Moore to do that while McCarthy focuses on big picture program issues.
4. As said, still has final say and can ask for plays to be called.
