I want MM..not the same thing...HOWVEVER, OUR OFFENSE did put up gawdy numbers. The real issue was coaching and D.

And the offense disappearing against good defenses. That's been part of the problem for years. The offense has been very good at times, but not great to where it can overcome weak defense.

No every HC doesn't have to call plays. BUT McCarthy did call plays the last 13 years he coached. But now he's turning it over to a guy he just met with one year of experience as OC. Yeah, definitely smells like a Jerry power move.

And that OC turned an offense from being 22nd in the NFL in yards gained and made it #1... McCarthy never had an offense as head coach that led the league in yardage.

Moore isn't trash.

And McCarthy has said he's installing the "West Coast" passing system, so it's not like he isn't having input.

Not a "power move" by Jerry.

And weak special teams.

McCarthy called plays for 13 years in GB. Its his offense. He expressed a desire to call plays at his intro press conference.........but it seems someone (???? who could it be......) talked him out of it in support of his latest coaching project.
Hmmmm, any suspects? :muttley:

Never said Moore was trash. But very unlikely this was initiated by McCarthy.

Either Big Mc lied or someone made a 'we' decision for him......

Mike McCarthy relinquished play-calling duties to start last season. After a rocky stretch for the offense, which lacked continuity, the Green Bay Packers head coach took back the job. While he doesn't regret the decision, he won't be surrendering those duties in the future.

"I'll never do that again," McCarthy told Tom Pelissero of USA Today.

I'm a little surprised by this. From his PC it sounded like he wanted to maintain the same approach he had in GB.

Right and from his video during his year off he said he regretted splitting things up and wanted the same person implementing and calling the system.

Ok im a little annoyed we are not changing the Plays, 90% of Kellen's Offense is Garretts... we need Mike and Kellen to get in the bunker come up with WCO/Kellen plays name them what ever you want but make it a hybrid and then let Kellen call the plays that way both know concepts and how its run, this way if mike sees something and he's got more experience he can over rule Kellen and say in this Down and Distance i think this will work best.

Im stoked about Al Harris being brought in, he was a great Press corner before they were envoge , and I hope they Keep Neon Leon

Keeping the terminology the same does not mean the offense remains the same. I don't believe this means we're running Kellen's version of Garrett's offense. It simply means we're not going to change the language of what the players do. This makes it much easier for them to understand what's expected of them instead of having to learn new terms for the same routes, etc.

This is bull spit - why the fk did we bring this guy in for.

He admitted he got lazy and wanted to "develop his staff"...well it looks like he's still lazy.

Another Wade situation - mark my words.

Long but good article on this clown...

He was fired recently for his play calling and had temporarily given it up. So yeah there is that.

These guys have been playing football all their lives, stop babying these guys. This is why this team is so soft.

McCarthy stated they are putting in the "West Coast" passing offense.

This feels like the exact opposite of what Mike McCarthy talked about in his Peter King interview.

In that interview, he talked about himself being the play-caller and that the play-caller needs to be the person who installs the offense each week.

Not a fan of this at all.

Either Jerry pushed this, or they really wanted Moore to stay and that was part of their agreement to keep him.

I feel MM wanted Moore to stay as he has said he liked his plays, maybe him being the playcaller was the deal that kept Moore here.

Guys can we at least give him a year before we start this nonsense?

Let him build his staff and let’s see where it goes

I will give them a chance before I decide if it works or fails. No problem with skepticism, but let's see.

It isn't babying. It's making the transition simpler for the players so that they can hit the ground running instead of wondering what pattern they are supposed to be running because McCarthy is using a different word for it.
