I think this sounds like a good transition and I think Moore will be excited/willing to learn from another offensive mentor. Clearly MM likes him and sees him as a tool to help his evolution to modern schemes.

The offense at home in 2019 was generally good - it was on the road where we seemed to play Garrett-ball with conservative field position warfare and running into stacked boxes on first down, trying to win 21-17 or similar.

Fix the defense and ST, tweak up the offense, and more aggressive coaching. I'm not saying it's guaranteed to work, but hopefully will be a far less frustrating product to watch on Sundays.

That's good news, going back and watching some videos about Mike's last two years at Green Bay sounded a lot like the Cowboys before Moore took over. The offense became predictable and teams knew what they were going to run before the snap.

It does sound very positive.

Yes, Moore may have been challenged in critical moments during the season, but he received no help from Garrett. It was sink or swim. Given the overall result, I think he did well. With MM overseeing Moore running his offense, I feel good about the direction. The defense is another matter.

Let's forget, Mike made this clear this a 2020 thing......

This is exactly what I think a HC should do. The playcall itself often isn't as important as what you'r trying to accomplish.

If McCarthy says "Hey, we need to go 11 personnel and run play action here," it's on Moore to pick the package and specific play, but it's still McCarthy's call. I've always thought that's how it should work.

Moore will call Mikes offense he will just change the terminology so it’s an easier transition for the players and Dak for this year.

I think he realizes that learning the WCO terminology could be detrimental in one offseason.

That's my take on it too, you delegate duties but monitor and or influence how they are being carried out. The JG stare o_O while having no imput on the game as it unfolds makes no sense.

I was surprised MC was keeping Moore. That said, MC must see something in our young OC by keeping him under his wings.

MC? You know it's not Mike Carthy right? I think the whole "analytics embrace", makes it easier to justify the millennial play caller.

Or was forced on him by Jerry and the misleading #1 offense he had.

It was 100% misleading, but I am sure MM thinks if he can incorporate his plays and his situational experience into KM's creativity it might be a nice combo. Doesn't mean it will work, but I get him wanting to try it.

I’m surprised it was announced this early, a little premature IMO. MM could have just said that he is looking at Kellen to call plays if he grasps new concepts during the Summer and camp.

This went from zero to hundred in a matter of days from possibly not retaining to calling the plays. It just seems odd at the timing. Maybe it was a promise to keep him from going to UW or maybe Jerry insisted that Moore stays during the interview process.....who knows.

I sure hope that Kellen isn’t automatically penciled in as our next head coach like Garrett was, make him earn his stripes but I have a feeling that is already the plan......Garrett 2.0.

The good news is that the offense only needs tweaked a bit, the defense is much more important.
