Coach - I’m curious how much hope you have with your Razorbacks ever winning another national championship or even a conference championship again. Does that deter you from still rooting them on and following even if it’s from a distance.

That’s how I’ve been for most of my life with Baylor except for a few pockets of fun. You expect to lose and hope to win . Unfortunately that’s where my Cowboys fandom has evolved. Not how it’s always been. But I walked away from that intensity after the 2007 season giving up my season tickets after 4 + decades with the best years of my life.

And I’m good with that. A lifetime of memories and joys. There’s still an occasional joy that pops up like the Jimmy induction. My wife insist I make the trip. I get chill bumps just typing it for its so emotional for me. I was so close to that team traveling with it for several years.

I’ve had to detach my emotions this era or I probably wouldn't have survived with my heart as serious as I used to be. I still enjoy watching the games on Sunday as that’s what I do. But the intensity is gone.

My last Cowboy game attended was the 2014 playoff game vs Lions. Took a good friend and great nephew who’s never been to a playoff game. That might be last time. The atmosphere is still riveting . I miss it.

I love football with all my heart. I’ll always love the Cowboys and what it meant to me most of my life. I still watch 25-30 hours a week with 4-5 games on at a time planning my life around it 4-5 months of the year. But Jerry has taken the pride I once had away.
I don't think the Hogs will sniff the SEC West, let alone the CFP. I gave up on that when they moved to the SEC, even before the CFP. While I still feel loyalty because that's my state and school, I don't get rabid for them but I also don't for the Cowboys.

I do not know if it's me getting older but a lot of it has to do with the game changing from a team sport to a showoff sport and I don't like it. The celebrations are childish, especially the ones for a turnover when they all run to the end zone and pose. Some D player makes a play, his job is making plays, after getting owned most of the game and acts like he's the Gladiator. I fell in love with football, playing it and watching it, because of the team aspect. A lot of that has gone by the wayside.

On the positive side of that, I do not have the ups and downs that some seem to have. If the Hogs or the Cowboys win or lose, that has 0 effect, it's just not important. If not for being on DC.com and now CZ, I am not sure how much I would really even watch the NFL. Except out of boredom.

I’ll never understand how a fan forum drives your interest in football? Without it you’d lose interest?

That scares me. What has the forum created with fans? Wow

I’m actually losing interest in this forum as it’s becoming less and less a Cowboys site and more about silly arguments and agendas. No wonder the other forum went under.

This HOF QB is a prime example. Fan sites are kinda silly. Too much attachment to players. Dak like Romo really need their own fan sites so the grownups can discuss football. KS is right.

iIf we can’t all agree with this definition then the term Elite is forever lost without any basis.
Ok. Let me make this question simple for you.
What physical and/or mental attributes does a quarterback need to posses in order to be considered elite?
There.. Now is that simple enough for you to explain?

Grow up. That’s elementary.
What attributes makes a quarterback elite?
Passing, that's it. Running, ball handling and handling the pocket really don't matter. It's all about passing TDs and yards.

Or they get rings like Bradshaw did with a bunch of HOFer's around him. He is not elite but he is in the HOF.

You're soft, yet throw out the slobberin' comment at will? Hypocrite.
That’s a broadstroke intentionally .

I didn’t specifically call you one. But I guess that’s too far over your head to grasp? It must hit home and why you’re so sensitive. Childish games.

No, it's really not. There are better players NOT in the HOF. I think you mean it is SUPPOSED to be full of elite players.
Bradshaw was not very good, he benefited from an amazing defense. He completed 52% of his passes and had a passer rating of 70. 212 TDs and 210 INTs isn't elite. I don't care what you think or how condescending you try to be.
Aikman only threw 165 TDs but 14 INTs. And he was NEVER an All Pro.
By contrast to how it has changed since Aikman played, Mahomes has almost half the TD's that Aikman did in his career in 2 seasons.

Only someone who didn’t watch him play on all of those big stages winning championships wouldn’t call him elite. Stats are for losers.

I’ve never seen or heard of anyone not defining HOF QB as not elite.

it’s the most ridiculous comment I think I’ve ever heard in this forum.

Elite is a subjective term to begin with but if we can’t all agree HOF QB’s are the epitome of Elite then we are really at a crossroads of the definition.

I suspect this isn’t what most sports writers , historians of the game, experts, analyst would agree with . Probably only some slobbering Dak or Romo fans on a fan forum. Lol

This a new low for this forum.
Bold, not true. I, alone, am responsible for dozens of more ridiculous comments.....just so far, into 2020.

I watched him and do not consider him elite, he QB'd a team with an elite O and D. His most famous play is the "immaculate reception".

Jimmy G is already a more accurate passer than Dak and his decision making will improve when he too has 4 years of starter experience. Better passer than Jackson ? Dak throws mostly above, behind, and in the dirt. Every once in a while he throws accurately. So no, Dak is not a better passer than Jackson. All the QB’s in the playoffs are BETTER than Dak except maybe Tannehil and Cousins. Dak’s stats are mostly empty stats from blowouts of bad teams. Can he drive the bus ? Maybe. But with inconsistency and inaccuracy, he plays like a 4th round QB. Maybe he can be consistently accurate in a West coast offense throwing 6-8 yard passes. We’ll see. But Elite ? Nah, he’s a slightly better Cousins or Tannehill

Jimmy G isn’t better than Dak, and if we include all 8 teams from the divisional round Dak is clearly better than 3 (Tannehill, Garappolo, Cousins) and a better passer than another (Jackson). Dak and Watson are very similar in terms of numbers and success to this point in their careers. So only 3 of the final 8 teams this
year have a QB you can say is clearly better than Prescott and one of them (Rodgers) is nearing the end of his career while Dak has another 10+ years.

And I like to compare the QBs when they played. We would not be talking about Aikman or Bradshaw if their team didn't win SBs. Their numbers were nothing to even talk about.

I watched him, he was awful at times. It's an individual achievement. Not a team accomplishment.
