No.

Jamal Adams is a stud. But at this point. Save the first rounder for the draft. The entire point of trading a first rounder mid season, was to get help immediately. The cowboys don’t need help immediately in the off season.

Not saying should they necessarily make a trade. Asking if they should restart trade talks
Sure, make the call, why not but I’m pretty sure the price went up and is probably going to be way too high. I wouldn’t trade 2 firsts and I imagine that’s what the Jets would require. He’s their best or second best player (assuming you give extra credit for being a QB)

I actually think there is a good chance we could get one of the top safeties in the draft. So, it all comes down to wanting a proven safety, or just getting one to become homegrown talent.

I'd just go with Delpit and someone like Curtis Weaver in the second.
That may be what we do but Adams is a proven pro bowl safety and while Delpit has a good skill set Adams was better coming out and is certainly now a proven commodity

Except Jets weren't looking for a single first, they wanted more. He's not worth more than a single first. It would be a bad trade.

And it's not as though Adams is taking the Jets over the top either. He's a good/great safety, he is not Ed Reed.

I would rather put the draft resources into fixing the DL or getting another CB and sign a vet FA safety.

Let's see what McCarthy thinks, not what the Jones' think.
Do you let a guy like Byron Jones go..

just to sign a FA like Adam's at safety for the same money as redoing the Jones deal?

If you have to trade something to get Adams..then no.

I see no progress if you trade for Adam's only to turn around and having to spend a #1 or #2 pick to draft a CB..

I say keep Jones and draft the safety and fix other problems at TE and DL with your other picks.

Compensatory picks may come to help us as well.

Let's see.

I would assume they only tabled the discussion during the season with both sides agreeing to revisit the idea later.

The question is what do the Jets want and is any team willing to pay it? They've got to consider what they would get at their spot in the 1st and the cap with Adams added.

It is not lost on any GM in the NFL the difference made with GB and their D with just 3 players but they didn't have to give up a 1sr rounder to get any of them.

But here's the question for us, at 17, is Adams better than what the Cowboys would take there? They took Martin at 16 and Vander Esch at 19.

Is S the #1 need? What if the WR1 or CB1 walk? Need to decide what they're going to do with their own players before they look at others.
