Dez couldn’t run a precise route if his life depended on it.

Can you imagine him learning the necessary blocking footwork and discipline to even pretend to be an NFL TE?

I would like to sign him for vet minimum and see what he can do. I'm saying that now cuz Garrett is gone. I'm hoping, and trusting, McCarthy will coach up Dak and improve him as a QB. If Dez is in shape, why not? He wouldn't be a progress stopper for Gallup, Gallup has pretty much arrived and gets better every year.

As long as they don't do something stupid like not sign Cooper and then sign Dez to be the #1 receiver. But if Dez came in and was 4 or 5th receiver and accepted it. I'd like to see if he has any gas in the tank.
The last time Dez was playing he was our #1, alpha receiver. He had been the alpha his entire life

Some players can make the adjustment from the #1 to the #4. It certainly helps if they simply age into a lesser role and it’s a gradual decline

Do you think Dez has come to grips with that?

the last thing I want to see is our #4 making a fuss over not getting enough targets

I want as close to a drama free season as we can get and I’m not confident that Dez would suddenly become this elder statesman teaching WR like he is making himself out to be in these comments.

Couple of problems with Dez trying to fill Wittens shoes. He is too small to block, he has hands of stone. I wonder if the Titans have an extra TE that is going to be a FA. Their TEs are all good blockers, catch well and have enough speed to run seem routes.

Dez is desperate to get back into the league.

It's really that simple.
he's done. people remember who dez used to be but that isn't likely who he is today. this team suffered from a lot of locker room drama and the dude who would bring in pet monkies? nah. don't need that crap again.

as for TE, i think jarwin and schultz will be fine they were coming into their own nicely and making plays then witten came back and went straight back to starting over the other 2. if there was ever a case for having a named vet take away from what you can see if your younger guys, this is it.

not that worried about TE as i think either of those guys can step up and to a degree, already have. lets see what we have before we go bring in another "star".

I would bring him in from morbid curiosity alone. Give him training camp and preseason to see what he's got.

Especially since he has worked with a route running coach starting 2 years ago. Not saying he would be on Cooper level but very interesting to see in preseason

It is a interesting idea. He would also be cheap.
I would kick his tires in TC and go from there.

Yes..

But answer me first..

will Dak throw in front or behind them?

His accuracy is still in question.

Now if we can develop a route where the WR drops to the ground 10 yards in front of where he is supposed to be and Dak hits him..

we are on our way.

I think the 49ers showed us tonite how to win with Dak.

Throw only 6 passes every half and instead hand the ball off.

Oh..and pay Dak some insane money like they did with Jimmy G.

Championship.
I can't figure out what is more sad.

Dez begging the cowboys to give him another chance.

OR

You morphing into a Dak troll only rivaled by Pappydog.

Exactly.
Everyone seems to think Dez has been sitting on his couch eating chips and salsa since he's been out of the league .

A Noah Brown who can catch and is a threat with the ball in his hands. I kinda like it.

I called Brown a teeny tiny TE who is no threat as a receiver. Dez would be teeny tiny TE, but a threat as a receiver.

Shows humility and some good sense about Cowboy needs too. Punt returns?

Without history with the Cowboys, this is exactly the kind of guy we'd take a flyer on. Of the field last year, so won't count against comp picks.

Who was that WR who got older, put on some weight, but was very effective that way for a year or two? Boldin?

If only Dez didn't keep it real when he got cut.

Those social media outbursts didn't paint him in a good "lockerroom" type and he got cut late into FA.
Then tearing his Achilles at an older age was one of the worse injuries to have for a WR.
