I'm not sure why people keep moving the goal posts. No one said Romo never had a defense or never had a shot.
The fact of the matter is, Romo's defenses where primarily average to mediocre in points allowed and he still led a team to 42 wins during that time frame. The offense had to compensate more for a poor defense than vice versa in order to win. The SB winning QBs who are considered great in the OP's stats rarely had to do that by comparison (except for Peyton), which shows that they typically had better teams. It would be interesting to know how quantitatively good Romo's offensive lines were too during these seasons, because from memory and the eye test, they were just as mediocre to bad.
Winning percentages in elimination games are such a stupid stat, especially if you're fighting to make the playoffs. That you're doing the latter means you have a little better than average team. Whether that's due to the defense, offense, coaching has to be assessed on a team by team basis.
