Eric Berry plans to return to the NFL in 2020, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports.

The former Chiefs safety worked out for the Cowboys but did not play in 2019. Garafolo said that was by design, giving Berry time to recover physically and mentally.

Berry, 31, has played only four games, including the postseason, over the past three seasons. A ruptured Achilles sidelined Berry for nearly two full seasons.

I would be shocked to see him back, the choice not to play this season wasn't really his. He obviously was interested in playing otherwise he wouldn't have gone on visits and workouts. Now maybe there were teams that offered him the vet minimum that he opted not to accept, but the injury he's dealing is really a pain toletence thing that he'll likely continue to deal with without further intervention.

maybe he got tons of stem cells and other treatments and ready for one or 32 great seasons to get some closure..?

I mean he could be a really good 3rd Safety used in situational dime and nickel etc etc limit his snaps for the right price better them those other guys that came in last season as backups..

Berry was linked to the Browns & Cowboys in '19 as well. Pass on this guy. Too old for Dallas and too many issues.

Achilles tendon rupture is way worse than an ACL injury. The chances of a full recovery to where he was at his playing days before that are pretty much gone. Especially for a S having to explode and change direction.
